902 Tasting Notes

One of my coworkers has been out of town, and her hotel had tea in the rooms. She pocketed them and left them on my desk at work, bless her. I love having enablers in my life. I brought these couple of bags home to try before bed tonight.
It’s minty chamomile. Or, rather, chamomiley mint. Mint is the first big flavor that I got from this, then followed by chamomile. There’s a hint of fruity, but you kinda have to be searching for it. Smooth, and fairly light. But the more I drink, the more the mint stands out.
Not too bad, but not something I’d purchase, either. I’m just happy to see that hotels are starting to provide more than coffee in the rooms for their guests.

I think this is my last bag. “Think” because I have stashes of tea everywhere (work, purses, home, friends’ houses) so that I’ll never be without tea. Hi, my name’s Jaime, and I have a tea addiction. :-P
I’m rather sad to see this one go. I had this iced today, and was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. This could definitely be making another appearance in my stash.
Okay, today I’m tasting the nettle, and I’m not so sure I’m enjoying it as much. Seems more herbal and supplement-like. Perhaps this bag is off/has a different concentration of herbs than the other did?

Just a small bit of green tea to get me through the afternoon here at work. I really like the fact that I can taste the goji in this one (as compared to Zhena’s goji cacao, where I have yet to find it). This is my last bag of this I have (only bought a travel tin to try it out), and I’m not sure if I’ll get more. Chances are no, since there’s so many other teas out there that I want to try first. If it were on sale, though, chances are that it would end up back in my cupboard.
Today whilst going through my tea drawer here at work, I found a Tsac that I’d made of loose-leaf tea. I hadn’t labeled it. sniff Could be a few teas that I have from home. So I brewed it up for 5 minutes, sipped and realized it was this tea. Let it brew for about 5 more minutes (I like my rooibos strong), and am happily drinking away on this mug.
I know I’ve logged/reviewed this before, but I really can’t say enough about this tea. It’s just delicious. I’ve only got one problem: there was only one bag, and this mug is just about gone.

Drinking the last of this tea this morning. I’m rather sad to see it go, and will probably reinvest in another tin sometime in the future. It’s a great tea for wrapping up in a blanket on the back porch and watching the world wake up.

This is tonight’s chamomile trial.
I’m getting much more rosehips and hibiscus with this, and the chamomile tends to fade into the background. There’s a hint of orange and lemongrass which just emphasizes the hibiscus. It’s very nice, and could definitely be in the running for my chamomile of choice.

This is one of my favorite rooibos blends, and I’m so afraid that Republic of Tea will retire it after this year.
The scent is definitely stronger than the taste, but the taste isn’t weak to me (could be because I let it steep for 10 minutes, too). It’s more chocolatey than orange, but the aftertaste is just like one of those chocolate oranges you get around Christmastime. Love it!

I absolutely love this blend. Sweet and tart, a good rich cup. I made a full pot of this tonight (which, for my little pot, is 3 cups). Hopefully it’ll brighten me up and keep me alert…I want to watch the Tea Mavericks discussion tonight!!

I wanted something calm and frill-less. This fits the bill. It’s delicious and calm and yummy.
