Quangzhou Milk Oolong from The Whistling Kettle
100

I’ve been drinking tea my whole life yet there are teas I try for the first time and just get blown away. And it reminds me that I still have a lot to learn about tea and many more to try.

Thank-you Emily M for this wonderful sample. The dry leaf is so buttery and milky. I noticed you double bagged this one, I can see why. This tea is so heavenly and delicious. Nice milky texture and buttery aftertaste. It feels thick and has a nice mouth feel. I need to taste more Milk Oolongs to compare but this is a new favorite for sure.

Yes, Thank-you… I got 3 steepings out of my first serving. So good. I think I need to place an order for it, so I have it on hand.

Milk oolongs are a treat that’s for sure… If you want to try others, I would suggest DavidSTea, it is superb! Their straight teas are not always the best, but this one is hands down my favorite milk oolong! Teavivre also offers 2 very different milk oolong, one is naturally flavored (less milky) and the other has milk flavor added. Both are very good quality teas and are less expensive than others.

Hi TeaFairy, Thanks so much for recommendations! So far, I’ve had the milk flavored oolong from DT, but not the straight Quangzhou. It was delicious and tasted like a marshmellow or vanilla cupcake. haha. I’ve not had Teavivre yet. I will definitely check them out. This was a very thoughtful comment, I appreciate it :-)

IIRC DavidsTea only has one milky oolong, which is the Quangzhou milk oolong :) I’m still not clear on whether it’s flavoured or not. They say no, but it’s tough to tell.

I had the Vanilla Orchid, not the milk oolong from DT.

Gotcha. I think that one’s just a vanilla-flavoured tieguanyin. I prefer the milk oolong, personally :)

I love tea and art.

NOTE: Tea in my cupboard are both sample sizes and larger. For a list of teas I want to swap, please PM me.

I enjoy tea swaps and trying new teas from different companies. It is a lot of fun to chat with fellow tea friends on steepster.

Black and Oolong are my favorite.
