424 Tasting Notes
I have 4oz of this tea if anyone wants a sample. I really miss my dark teas at night so I have been trying to fill that void. This tea isn’t bad! But wow did I overleaf it. I say leaf but it looked more like coffee grounds. I used 2t for 11 oz and that was way too much. After a minute of steeping it looks like coffee.
This is only my second cup of tea today, but this is catching me up quickly.
In other news:
- I hate my bangs today.
- started watching a new series tonight, The Bletchley Circle. Looks promising!
- hubby and I are settling down to watch the Eurovision semi final from yesterday. It’s in Copenhagen this year, a city I really love.
Another sample from Stephanie! Luckily she also made sure to tell me to brew it at a low temp, so my cup turned out really well. I don’t get a strong raspberry flavor, or a strong floral note. It’s just a pleasant cup with a bit of raspberry at the end. A little astringent too.
I picked this tonight because I wanted a black tea but it’s way too late for one. Honestly when I picked it out of the basket I had no idea what a perfect pick it was. I was just fishing for a white (which I can handle at this hour) but had no idea I had picked the “white tea for black tea drinkers” until I got back to my iPad, tea in hand. Serendipity!
It is hitting all of the right notes for me. I am a little stuffed up so I can’t get the more subtle notes, but definitely get the strong and malty bit. Maybe a bit of sweet potato. Hmm, Stacy have you ever made a sweet potato pie tea? With marshmallow, oh my. That sounds awesome.
So I am watching Hannibal. I never feel like I understand all of what is happening but keep watching anyway. It’s amazing the imaginative ways they find to kill people.
And it’s prom today so my day was full of hair and makeup appointments for my daughter.
Thank you to Stephanie for this sample. It is delicious! I get flavors of raisins, pastry, sweet glaze, a hint of cinnamon. The aftertaste is yummy and lingers a long time. This is one I see myself keeping on hand after I drink my collection down a bit.
