545 Tasting Notes
This was one of the teas that my friend gave me. I actually made it for breakfast this time. I tried a few sips of it plain and it was nice. It was a stronger flavor but the flavor did not punch you in the face. It was more of a “hey, it’s time to wake up now” buzz.
I put a little bit of milk in it, just enough to turn the tea from a nice rich brown to a nice toffee color. The milk let the flavors mix better and made for a smoother cup.
Overall, I really like this tea and I wish I had more of it to drink.
I just steeped this as my cuppa before bed. My friend went to the tea plantation this summer and brought me back some samples.
It smells nice and peachy. This is my first peach tea so I’m not sure if I’ll like it. It is just hot and plain right now. Something tells me that I should have let this steep for much longer than I did. It doesn’t taste like much but I’m not sure if it is just because I have a bigger mug or not.
It isn’t bad but I was expecting a stronger flavor. A few more sips later and I have decided that the tea is very light and almost buttery. It leaves my throat a little try but it isn’t unpleasant. Maybe if I had more fruit teas, I would like this more.
My cafeteria is running out of tea. I had a choice between this tea and some green tea. Since I didn’t really want green tea, I went with this.
The first glass I had tasted like pumpkin. I think I was impatient and I didn’t let it steep for very long. I think it was more like two and a half minutes than my usual four. And I put some normal milk in it. It reminded me less of gingerbread and more of pumpkin pie.
Then my friend came down to eat with me and I had a second cup. I decided to experiment a little. I let it steep longer (it had a stronger flavor so I must have steeped it around four minutes this time). Then I put chocolate milk in it. It was fantastic! It was this nice spicy chocolate flavor. It was just a little sweet but it didn’t overpower the tea. I was so glad I had this version at the end of my meal because it tasted more like a dessert tea to me this time. I might have to try putting a little bit of chocolate milk in the rest of my teas and see what it does to them.
I had this a couple of days ago for lunch and it makes me so sad that I only have two bags of it left. It tasted so good. It wasn’t sugary sweet which was fantastic but it had enough flavor to compliment my meal.
I just need to start making myself hot tea again instead of going with the big pre-prepared sweet tea that my school has.
I was browsing my teacher’s tea basket and found this instead of the tea I was looking for. So I decided to pick it up and make it for dinner.
I wasn’t sure how to make it so I just dumped it into a mug of hot water and stirred in the powder until it was dissolved. Because I wanted a cooler drink with my meal, I then dumped the mixture into a 16 oz glass filled 1/4th with milk.
It was really interesting. The milk made it very creamy. I thought it tasted like a pumpkin pie. It was good. I would probably have it again but not very often. It was almost too sweet for my taste.
I got excited when I saw this sitting in my teacher’s tea basket. She was excited that I wanted to try it. So, after several attempts of taking a drink (and burning myself) I finally got a taste.
First, it doesn’t really taste like much. It tastes a little peppery to me. Not bad but not something that I would drink all the time.
Second, this tea smells like bacon. I swear it does. One of my classmates sat down from me and asked where the bacon was so I wasn’t the only one.
Overall, it isn’t something I would drink all of the time but it was interesting to try.
This is my mom’s favorite tea and I was happy to see it in my school’s cafeteria. I remember trying it before when I was little and hating it because it wasn’t sweet enough. So, I decided to try it again.
Now, my mom doesn’t really like gingerbread but this is what the tea reminded me of. Fresh baked gingerbread. It wasn’t bad, and I actually drank it a few times. I actually like it best when I brew it together with Twining’s English Breakfast.
Well, it has been a long time since I have written a note. My English teacher loves tea and she keeps a very well stocked basket of teas. I found this review on an index card with my notes with a note on it to put on here after class. Well, that didn’t work but I remember writing the note! Here is what it said:
faint carmelly taste
probably needs sugar to bring out more of the sweetness
would make a better sweet tea, not desert tea
I remember not being very impressed with it but I may take a bag to try it out as a sweet tea sometime during the weekend. My teacher keeps her room open and urges us to come and relax in the room. And I have two reading days coming up so I will probably be making this tea again to try as a sweet tea. As much as I love the school’s normal sweet tea, I need more variety.
