335 Tasting Notes
I was interested in the blend of the flavors. I love chicory in tea blends. The dominant flavor is hibiscus, though it doesn’t have the sour tang it usually boasts. This brew was a pretty rosy pink, lightly sweet, and mild. Banana was nice, not too much. Couldn’t honestly taste coconut. Strawberry is very mild, wish it had more. For the money, it’s a good tea. I would buy this tea again if it had more strawberry. If you love banana tea, this is surely for you! There’s a loooong banana aftertaste.
Preparation
I wanted to try a new rooibos since I am starting to really love it. The tea doesn’t have the qualities I love about rooibos, that strong honey component. I was hoping this would have a flavoring similar to their Island Mate Spice, which I truly loved. It’s more like a cinnamon tea than anything else. I shouldn’t shop when I’m thristy!
Preparation
This purchase was solely for the art on the box. I had a Siamese cat , and the drawing was just perfect, cat and tea! I bought this when I don’t know jack squat about tea. It was so gross, I didn’t drink white tea for years from my experience with this tea. I just remember this tea being sour pear. I swore off Celestial Seasonings even! Though they won me back with Island Mate Spice, then they broke my heart again to take it off the market.
I am not a fan…just a couple points off from 0 since the cover art is cute!
This was alright. I am picky when teas are fruit flavored. The flavoring just wasn’t tasty. It was fake tasting. I tried it iced, and finished my cup. I didn’t care for the black tea either, just wasn’t OMG worthy. It does smell like it tastes, which isn’t a plus. I’m just not loving it.
Preparation
I bought this on a whim while I was on vacation in Iowa. Yes, vacationing in Iowa. I haven’t been the biggest fan of teas that were more spice than tea. This is definitely one of those. So instead of brewing it naked, I brewed it in local apple cider. This was fantastic. It paired well, perfect for spiced cider. If I do brew this naked, I will add black tea or jamaica flowers. It’s a good base.
Preparation
Thank you Doulton for a huge serving of this tea! This is my first official tea from Teavana. I have been eyeing their white chai for a long time. This chai wasn’t spciy enough for me. I prefer the spices and tea separate for chais, because I think the spices need a longer time to brew to bring them out. Plus, fresh ginger in chai is essential! Aside from that, this chai was just ok, nothing stands out from it. The chocolate is nice, but very quiet.
Preparation
The coloring of the white tea reminds me of the South India Oothu from TeaG. With the higher brewing temp, I am sure they are related. I would of loved this tea, if it wasn’t for the cucumber flavor. The smell of the dry leaf wasn’t exactly appetizing. It smelled like a cucumber that’s been in the fridge for alittle too long. And I love cucumbers, I used to buy cucumber to just put in my ice water to flavor it! I think this is just an iced tea. I had this as a hot tea. Yeah, not good. Thank you Doulton for a taste of this tea.
Preparation
I love teas naked, but chocolate or chai teas I need some milk or cream in them. I loved it with this tea. This is a nice, earthy tea. This is my first experience with pu’erh. This tea has coffee like components. It actually reminds me of freshly roasted Ethiopian coffee they serve at some good Ethiopian restaurants. Dark, smooth, and no bitterness. Not an everyday tea for me, but an every now and then kind of tea.
