Krampus Brew from Handmade Tea

Lamington Brew from Handmade Tea

195 degrees, steep 4 minutes ,Breville one touch basket cycle off

The tea when first brewed has a natural sweet smell. The oolong adds to the depth of flavor. There are light lemon notes in the taste. The coconut and coaco do not really come out in the flavor of the tea, but really add to the over all richness and mouth feel. Adding some sugar really makes more like its namesake. The lemon pops out more and all the flavors come together nicely like one happy family. If you are a person who doesn’t like coconut – don’t worry. My boyfriend hates it and he really likes this tea.

This is the first tea I received from Handmade Teas.

Pomegranate Black Tea from The Tea Nation

I received this tea from a swap from Rachel. I let the water come to a boil then let it cool for 30 seconds before I added it to the tea. I let it steep for 3 minutes. I find this a nice simple black tea and the pom flavor is nice. Not to potent and not to delicate. I found I did enjoy this tea better with a little bit of raw honey added.

Butterbeer from 52teas

It smells how I would think butter beer would smell and tastes how I would think it would taste! I recommend adding some sugar because it really helps to add to the flavor profile. This tea is awesome! I’m making a batch iced right now and will update to let you know how that tastes.

UPDATE: The Iced tea is delicious! Has more of a root beer taste when iced. But I love root beer and tea, so this is a win for me.

organic wild rose white from Rishi Tea

What can I say? I am a sucker for Rose tea. The smell of this tea is enough to calm me. This tea is delicate and soft. The roses do not over power the subtle notes of the white tea. They dance in balance together. I go to this tea when I don’t want something as robust as my rose black tea, but desire the mouthwatering taste of roses.

Monkey Fart from 52teas

All I could think of at first was Laffy Taffy banana. I made this tea iced, so I have not tried it hot. I do find a little goes along way! It’s sweet so I did not need to add much sugar (if any). The banana flavor comes through well and keeps even when thinned out with my melting ice cubes. I think the tea would do well mixed with some other teas…a caramel tea perhaps. Banana foster anyone?

Evening In Missoula from Montana Tea & Spice Trading LLC

I received this tea from a friend. It smells wonderful! The wintergreen mixes well with the other spices and almost has a sweet scent. This tea does have peppermint in it and it does not over power it (which I find important). The layers are balanced and no herb over powers the other. The cup isn’t anything mind blowing, but I really enjoy it’s hearty herbal-ness! Just a tried and true herbal blend that really helps me unwind from my day. Also, the blend is awesome from a health standpoint. There are herbs for hormone balance, nerve tonic, digestion, and immunity(cherry bark and hyssop are great for lung health in particular). This will always be a staple in my tea cupboard.

Rose Petal Tea from The Republic of Tea
95

This has been my go to rose tea for years. I remember when it was called queen of hearts and you could only get it seasonally through republic of tea. It is wonderfully floral but not too much. I find the rose very calming and soothing.

Lavender Dreams from Teavana

I was not impressed with this tea. I love floral teas and lavender is one of my favorites. Sub-par lavender taste and the white tea is there…but it’s also so-so. Definitely not worth the price.
