1500 Tasting Notes
Fragrant is how I’d describe all of the S&V teas I’ve got, save one or two. This is one of the more fragrant ones, and I must admit that I love it. Sure, I need to package these up with tin foil so that they don’t take over the other teas in my stash, and that’s okay with me. When I open them… aaah.
This tastes more like a creamy vanilla or caramel with a touch of spice than crème brulee, however it’s still delicious.
Preparation
Hm. Do I get gingerbread? Only if I sweeten the tea with Truvia. Orange gingerbread, although I’d say more spice (with bite) and orange than anything. Still delightful!
Gosh I love Sherlock, and am so sad having just realized how few episodes there are.

I agree, amaaaaaziiiing! I am going to watch it again with my sister soon. It really reminded about how disconnected Sherlock is from society and individuals. I bet he’d make a great Vulcan, which reminds me that I still need to see the lastest Star Trek movie with Mr. Cumbermatch in it!

Wasn’t sure what to think of this tea, as it’s been in my cupboard for a few months now, and I’m totally blanking out on my last experiences with it. So, fresh palate it is!
There’s a lot going on in this cup – 8 ounces of water, 2 tsp of tea, steeped for about 10 minutes. The colour is dark brown, similar to many black teas, although the flavour is very different. I’m getting a fair amount of different flavours in here: raisin, carrot, lemongrass, tart apple, something herbal I yet to taste otherwise. A dark berry in there too somewhere. It’s juicy yet subtle if that makes any sense, and I think I understand more now why it’s called Secret Garden – it makes me think of the wonderful book by the same name that I read as a child.

So… my last sample (that was a sipdown) came from OMGsrsly. This sample (a full pouch!) came from CelebriTEA. Wowza! So glad I love this.
Working on transitioning to a brand new laptop. Whee! I just wish it were a bit easier. Win 8 is a bit… weird. Love the keyboard though, and the actual laptop itself. And so, I’ll be up late tweaking. May even set up the new printer, too.

I had to switch to Windows 8 a couple months back when I dropped my old laptop and I hated it at first but once you adjust, it is amazing. Hope you adjust soon!
for me windows 8 boiled down to ’don’t overthink it’, now it’s easy. =0)
I’m rebelling against Windows 8 – choosing to use the desktop not the apps…so far that’s working for me. (I still miss the start key)
You can get the start key again; I used a program called Iobit just now that basically got rid of all the crud the system auto-installed, and gave me my Start Menu back. That was really the only thing I had to have. :)
I wasn’t a fan either… it seems designed for a tablet, which isn’t what I have. I installed the interface that makes it look like classic windows though.
I understand now why everyone is raving about this tea. It really is very tasty!
I see white snowflake sugar bits in the tea, as well as black tea and some cornflowers. Little else.
Straight, I found the tea a bit harsh similarly to the other EGs I’ve had today. With Truvia however, it smoothed out and became all yummy and fluffy and delicious.
Preparation
Tried a cup of this before sending off the rest to an Earl Grey -loving Steepster. I’ve sent this out to someone else already as well, I’m just blanking out as to who.
Plain, I found it a bit harsh, smoky and dry. Sweetened with a bit of Truvia, it perks up considerably. The bergamot presents more fully, the smokiness is still there, and the dryness is still present. While I’m far from an earl grey aficionado, I’d say this is a pretty solid blend.
Either my nose is broken or I happened to choose ones that aren’t fragrant, but most of the ones I chose aren’t that fragrant to me.
Root Beer? Really? It’s probably the most, er, fragrant tea I’ve ever come across. I’ve yet to have any though. Each of the packages I’ve sent out with orders, I had to wrap in tin foil.. and I could still smell them. Mind you, I have an uncannily strong sense of smell.
Besides Root Beer! I agree, that one is STRONG. But most of the others are quite weakly scented to me, especially the bakery ones.
