drank Ceylon Star by DAVIDsTEA
73 tasting notes

The 2nd of my new David’s tea samples!
I never had the idea to try this tea before because, just like Rooibos de provence, it never catched my attention. It did yesterday because of the new Halloween gift box, which contains one tea I love – Organic stormy night – and which I was sure they didn’t have anymore in stores. So when I saw they had it – yay! – I gave a try to Ceylon star, because I would have if I would have bought the Halloween box.
First thing I noticed about it when I steeped it: its awesome white chocolate smell. It smells so good, I wanted to cup to stay on my desk forever. But I was a little afraid about the similarity with Chocolate cake tea, which smells awesome too, but doesn’t taste that good at all.
The taste of Ceylon star is creamy and the anise taste is not overpresent. I liked it, but I was a little disappointed because I would have liked to taste the coconut and chocolate more. Maybe I had to many tea leaves and not enough of the other ingredients in my cup? I will update the rating when I try it again!
Update
I tried it again and steeped it stronger. The white chocolate is more present – which I like a lot. I’m gonna give it a few more points because it was better this time.

Hi, I’m a canadian woman in the late 20’s and I speak french so I’m sorry for the eventual misspellings!

I mostly drink teas from David’s tea collection because they are more accessible to me. They are also friendly and diversified. I’ve learned to like the taste of tea leaves. On my steepster blog, you used to only find ratings of flavoured, spicy, chocolatey, fruity or herbal teas :) In fact, I was only drinking herbal teas before I discover David’s tea because I didn’t really know anything about tea varieties.

I love trying new teas. When I buy new kinds, I always have a hard time deciding which one I will be trying first.

And here are my ratings:
100 = Cannot live without
90-99 = Excellent, I will NEED to buy again
75-89 = Very good, I would buy again, why not?
70-74 = Good, I would drink if I had some, but I wouldn’t mind not having some
50-69 = Disappointing but still drinkable
0-49 = Erm… No.
