Butiki teas has finally made me a believe that there are good rooibos out there! I am not a fan of rooibos at all but i loved this tea!!! Its coconut creaminess in a cup!!!!! The second steep I added a drop of vanilla cream!!! MMMMMMMMMMMM. definitely one to keep in my cupboard and will reach for during the autumn and winter seasons. I love love love!!! THANK YOU BUTIKI for helping me find a successful delicious cup of rooibos. So far the only I have come across. :)
I enjoyed this with a few of my german toasts [Brandt-Zwieback] :) Loved this since I was a baby. Takes me back in time.

I’m also like that, I didn’t think there was ever going to be a rooibos I’d enjoy. This was the first one I somewhat enjoyed, then I tried Lime and Lemon Chiffon from Della Terra – so good!

Stephanie

Dang, now I want to try it! ;)

BrewTEAlly Sweet

@Courtney I got the lime chiffon in the mail a few weeks back and I can’t wait to try it. I was hesitant to order it because of the rooibos. I can’t wait ti try it now. :)
@Stephanie ;)

wiicked

I’ve been trying to find a roobois that I like so I may have to try this one!

wiicked

It would be sick if I could find one I actually like! :)

Stephanie

Coconut is one of my favorites too!

Stephanie

Have you tried Honeybush, wiicked?

wiicked

I tried a honey bush from teavana and I wasn’t a huge fan :/
Idk what it is

Stephanie

Ah, I dislike rooibos too but Honeybush is more tolerable.

BrewTEAlly Sweet

i agree with Stephanie. Honeybush is so much more tolerable!

Tealizzy

You should try this one iced…really yummy!!

BrewTEAlly Sweet

Will have to do! Thank you!

JustJames

Nice looking tea James. I love Ritter sport’s coconut chocolate bars. My favourite is the milk chocolate one but I don’t see it very often here. We use to get it in Warnemunde, Germany the summer I spent on a cruise ship. We use to stock up on candy and water than head to the beach, while most of the Pax made the long journey to Berlin.

JustJames

@yyz the beauty of the blend is all in stacy’s talents =0), can’t wait to try it. chocolate and coconut is a grand thing. (insert happy sigh).

yyz

It’s true but for me it has to be a fresh tasting coconut.. I’m not really that fond of toasted coconut.

I have to say this was just not my cup of tea:/ I was very excited for this, but I couldn’t finish it. And thats saying something. I think this is where I ran into my problem with the Ginger Spa Blend from Verdant as well. The strength of the ginger and coriander was way too overpowering for me. It smelled nice, and if you can tolerate the sweet and spice this would probably be a fantastic tea. I just wish I had the taste buds for it :/ :/

keychange

Oh, that’s too bad. This is actually one of the teas on my to-try list. Do you feel it was too strong?

BrewTEAlly Sweet

ya for me it was too much:/

Stephanie

Maybe I will like it…I dig the ginger spa…I’ll try it tomorrow maybe. Or the sweet cinnamon pu. Can’t decide! :D

keychange

Sounds like it might be up my alley, too—I like my teas super strong.

wiicked

I feel you haha
I’m not a huge fan of teas that are super sweet or spicy and I’ve tried a couple of verdants teas and they’ve been amazing and I’ve tried others and I haven’t been able to finish it :/

Stephanie

Wiicked- I think it’s because verdant doesn’t use “flavorings” just spices and real stuff!

wiicked

Yea but I can’t stand the taste of flavourings either which is why I was suprised

BrewTEAlly Sweet

thats what i love about verdant. the natural(ness). I just for some reason cannot stomach the spicy teas:/ and ginger teas. :/:/ I love strong teas, just not spicy or ginger(y) apparently…

wiicked

Exactly
I love the fact that their natural teas with no candy or flavourings
I just can’t handle too much ginger

Finally I am getting around to logging my teas from this week. Yay! I prepared this as instructed. Boiling water and steep, cool and chill. I have to say this tea surprised me. I was expecting the artificial Watermelon flavor. Guess what?! No fake flavor!!!! yay!! it tastes like watermelon. It very strong. I would recommend watering it down just a tad bit, it doesn’t need sugar at all, but I was curious so I added sugar and it was very nice! these would make amazing popsicles! I will have to try before summer is over!

Ill have to continue doing my persimmon tree samples another day, today and days to come I just want comfort teas. This sample came with my first butiki order. It smelled just like a birthday cake before steeping. After, it did smell like bread. And tasted like it took. I sipped half the cup hoping to find that sweet cake and icing. I did not, so i added a tad bit of sugar and cream! and BAM there it is! Delicious! I love it! I will have to add this to my shopping list. Thank you Stacy!

So today at 4AM was my first day at me new job in my new city, as a full time baker:) I did however wake up this morning to a phone call from my dad with bad news, my grandpa passed. Not how I wanted to start my first day. Luckily the owners were sooooooo understanding. But I was so thankful for my Aladdin travel tea mug for these early morning shifts I will be working, 4AM-noon. This was a sample I received from DianeInOz a while back. And thank god! This was perfect for this morning! And I really enjoyed it. The coffee was not overpowering at all, not like I thought it would be thankfully. And surprisingly the matte was not too strong either. I really enjoyed how the White chocolate complimented the coffee beans. The nuttiness and earthiness did shine through the barks and almond. It was not a sweet dessert-y tea either just right. It was seriously a cup of coffee already including cream but in tea version. Very clever. This was yet another DAVIDsTEA that did not let me down. Thank you DianeInOZ Two thumbs up.

Stephanie

Full time baker? What a cool job!! Sorry about your grandpa :(

BrewTEAlly Sweet

thank you Stephanie

yyz

So sorry for your loss.

Veronica

Congratulations on your new job! I have all the respect in the world for early morning risers. Also, I’m sorry for your loss.

Fuzzy_Peachkin

Sorry got your loss, but congrats on the job. Take care!

So I thought that since I got my sampling done from my swap with Stephanie I would finally get back to my Persimmon Tree samples I ordered when they were doing their big promotion packs. I was very hesitant to try this one seeing as I am not a fan of rooibos tea at all. The dry leave did contain a little of it, but seemed to be mostly chamomile and lemongrass. It smelled interesting, I do not know how to describe it but I did pick up the banana scent. After the steeping was almost through…AH HA there you are rooibos! I smelled it! This made me even more nervous. I tried it unsweetened first and could only pick up chamomile. I can’t complain because there was no rooibos to be found :D (happy girl!) I added a little sugar and I found the banana! a tiny bit of nuttiness comes out too! Sadly no sign of coconut anywhere, and even the lavender that says it is present. I will resteep with both sugar and cream this time and will get back to you! I also will have try this iced as per moraiwe’s suggestion in her tasting note. I would have never thought to make this an iced tea.

This tea came in at my local tea shoppe, Gold Leaf Spice & Tea, the week before I moved. The owner posted it and I had to have it! So I stocked up on it! Anyways… I had this tea this morning and oh man are those cinnamon pieces large:D Half my thumb! I had 2 pieces of popcorn and one cinnamon slice in my steep and I loved it! I had it without sugar and cream and the second steep I added both! I have to say though I might add a little more maple next time because I could not make out the maple. It was a sweet black tea with a kettle corn and cinnamon addition. I really enjoyed this one and I see myself definitely having to make a call and have this shipped to me once I run out, or stock up when I visit:) Thank you Gold Leaf Spice & Teas for introducing me to this one!

I second Stephanie’s tasting note on this. If you like rooibos this would definitely be tasty. But seeing as I am not fond of rooibos at all, its just not my cup of tea. The smell was very fruity but I got nothing but rooibos from the taste. This is sadly, my last tea from my swap with Stephanie …Thank you for this swap and I hope to be swapping with you again :D. Enjoy your teas!

Stephanie

Wow you went through those quick! I should have sent you more! ;)

BrewTEAlly Sweet

Ha ha I wouldn’t have complained :)

I am on my third steep already and am continuing to love this tea. Too bad all I have left is about half a teaspoon for another time and date :/

El Monstro

Nice, I’ve been wanting to try their Paris blend.

I was super excited to try this one! Another tea from a swap with Stephanie :D!! I’m not sure what went wrong with this…I either did not steep long enough, or over leafed it and the genmaicha is too over powering…? This is however my first encounter with Genmaicha, and I am quite happy. I was very intimidated by just the looks of it. After steeping it smelled like pan fried rice with a little hint of sweetness and a lot of smokiness. And the taste to me, tasted exactly how it smelled. I am sad that I could not pick up the marshmallow root and cacao nibs. So… I decided to add sugar. It brought out the marshmallow flavor a tad bit, so why not at cream? THERE’S THE MARSHMALLOW! All in all it tastes like a roasted marshmallow and I am fine with that. Stephanie gave me 1 oz to work with so I will continue experimenting and will not cross this one off my list quite yet. Thank you Stephanie for letting me experience all these new flavors. Your 52 teas were the first 52 teas I have ever tried :D. I had a order come in a couple days ago but have yet to open them because I wanted to get to your swap first:)

Stephanie

I felt similar…where’s the chocolate? Glad you enjoyed it somewhat…

BrewTEAlly Sweet

I know! NO chocolate?!
