206 Tasting Notes

Oh my goooooooddddddness! Thank you so much to kimquat for sending me a sample of this! Man do you know how to make a sample AIRTIGHT! And such precise steeping directions.

So I’ve mastered getting tea with me to work! Yay. I get everything ready before bed the night before (water in the kettle, leaves in my aladain tumbler) in the morning I get ready and while I’m brushing my teeth I runnnnnnn down stairs and turn the kettle on. Run back upstairs and finish up. Out the door by 3.55 am and at work by 4:) ha ha i was quite happy with myself.

anyways….this tea!! I drank it ALL day yesterday. Steep after steep after steep. And to accompany it, I went to panera bread the night before a bought a few bagels for breakfast (french toast, cinnamon crunch, and pumpkin pie) I bought their hazelnut cream cheese to accompany them, so I had the french toast bagel with hazelnut cream along with this! Amazing! Blew my mind.

I have to admit, the first steeping scared the crap out of me. It was quite overwhelming, very astringent, very tooooooo strong for me, all I tasted was bread notes and astringency. :( luckily the many many many other steepings were out of this world. Perfection actually! Cinnamon swirl bread yummy goodness. It tastes exactly like a cinnamon roll without the frosting. Ohhh myyyyy gawdddd!

Ha ha this is literally the only tea I drank yesterday I’m not joking! Allllllll day until the moment I fell asleep:) the bread taste amazed me on how spot on it was. It amazes me how tea can bring out notes like bread! Like brioche in american tea rooms brioche. Tea just amazes me! End of story!

Genus, I thought I was the only one here with such schedules.

Nxtdoor

Not genus, gezus, more like it, but I guess iPad doesn’t do blasphemy.

BrewTEAlly Sweet

Its a musttttt with my work schedule.

Debbie

This tea sounds amazing.

I’m drinking Brioche right now! :D

Stephanie

:) :) :)

BrewTEAlly Sweet

Brioche has my whole heart and this one might be coming alomg with it. :):)
@Stephanie have you bought any yet. I see you have tried it a few times. :)

Stephanie

I haven’t purchased any! I’d be willing to go in on some since you’re shipping me stuff anyway ;) Have you tried any of their other teas yet?

BrewTEAlly Sweet

Ha ha I have an open shopping cart right now. 2oz tin of this, I can add one for you or a 2oz bag or 4oz tin or a try me:) I’m also adding samples of white chocolate, milk chocolate and yunnan premium gold bud honey black. The swedish delight and cranapple are intruiging though.

Stephanie

You should get a sample of the Black and White. Based on your preferences for good vanilla and chocolate teas I’m sure you’ll like it! I had a sample of it once. I’ll take a 2oz bag of Cinnamon Swirl! Lemme know how much money to paypal ya including tax. Sorry, we should probably be doing this in PMs LOL

BrewTEAlly Sweet

Any samples for you or anything you’d like to try as well?

Stephanie

I looked around on their website a little bit but I just got overwhelmed, LOL…so I guess not!

BrewTEAlly Sweet

Okay :) I added black and white. :)

Mmmmmmm!!! Another successful tea I brought to work this morning! I came up with a system so I don’t have to get up crazily early just to bring my tea:) it’s working and I’m loving it! This was another creamy tea that didn’t need milk to bring it out!!! Yay me! This was a lovely vanilla tea. Since the name was cafe vanilla I was expecting some espresso but nope.. All vanilla !!!!! Yummo! So glad I ordered this one!

Your reviews always make your teas sound amazing. I swear each time I read one I add something else to my shopping list! Also congrats on finding a way to sleep in and still have tea!! I have yet to master that so usually I end up having to wait until I get home. Btw I hope you feel better!!

BrewTEAlly Sweet

Ha ha aw thanks I’m not very descriptive cause I’m usually in a hurry. My tasting notes seem to get shorter and shorter :(

VariaTEA

I guess it is your excitement. I doubt you would be that excited if it was not that good!

I had this at 4Am this morning at work:) it was sooooooo good. It was minty and creamy and oh so sweet. Dessert in a cup. Or in my case breakfast in a cup. :) with my tonsillitis back again almost 4 weeks later :( I’m trying to avoid having to add milk and this did not need any whatsoever. The creaminess you get from this makes you think other wise I kid you not. It’s amazing! Yummy! This was a tea I received from Ellyn in my Secret Pumpkin Swap! Thank you*

I am sorry to hear about your tonsilitis but your review makes this sound amazing! I will definitely need to add it to my order when I place an order with Della Terra

VariaTEA

I hope you feel better soon though!

keychange

Yikes, I hope you feel better soon. And I agree that this is one of the best teas in the world, and dellaterra comes out with an appropriately themed version of it all year!

Wow this one got high ratings. I hate to rain on this parade… But it was wayyyyy too perfumey for me. I love jasmines but this one tasted quite bitter, extremely overwhelmingly floraly and very perfume like! :(

Side note: my tonsillitis is back! It hasn’t even been a whole month yet since my last encounter! This is getting out of hand!

Kaylee

Oh nooooo. Feel better longer soon!

Stephanie

Ugh… tonsilitis. I’ve had issues with mine before. I wish I’d had them removed as a kid! Meh.

Maybe a larger amount though! I love everything about this tea! Creamy goodness….perfect ratio of pumpkin to spice. The vanilla pair perfect! And oh my goodness the base is excellent! Hands down my new favorite, definitely preferred over the pumpkin brulee:) my old holiday favorite! Yay for this tea making me one happy girl and for having an amazing steepster friend like Stephanie!

I was always interested in this tea but your review makes me want to place an order on Butiki right now so I can try some of this asap

Stephanie

She hit one out of the park with this tea! I want another cup tomorrow even though I’ve got untasted teas I’m eager to try! :)

BrewTEAlly Sweet

She truly did great!!!

Kaylee

This one really is amazing. <3 indeed.

Mmmmmmmmm! I am not a red rooibos kind of girl, but green roibos? Sign me up! Yummy! This tea is very appealing to the eye with the sunflower petals. I actually bought some sunflowers the other day so I had to share! Not only my flowers but my cute cup I picked up at TJ MAXX today :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/20741867@N05/10635363724/
This tea was very pleasant. The pear and cream paired well together. I sweetened it a little and it brought the juiciness of the pear out! Perfect for bedtime!

Wow this one is so close to the red hot candies! I don’t like those candies or big red gum :/ this was a good tea. I had to add milk though so I could get the creamy cinnamon instead of the hot cinnamon. It was yummy as a latte! Unfortunately there was no pop rocks in the whole bag:/

Hmmmm… hot I was not a fan of this at all…. it tasted like bitter black plain tea. Weirdly enough as it cooled the flavored appeared. I just got a creamy flavor and a tiny tiny hint of coconut. Many 52 teas I have to experiment with a lot to get the perfectcup. :/

I saw this at world market last week, and when i saw it in thr box i knew i had to try it. This tea will definitely warm you up. The spices linger in your throat and on your tongue. After adding cream it brought the coconut out. While I did enjoy it, not one of my favorite coconut teas and will not be purchasing it after all :)

I have a sample of this to try. I think my SIL will like it, so ewe will see. They don’t sell it where I live, but there are several stores that carry it near where my kids live.

I’ve only ever had this as bagged tea. And I love it so much more loose! You can smell the bergamot upon steeping it. The taste is very comforting. Fruity yet creamy. I get notes of blackberry and vanilla. You can also get the caramel flavors near the end of the sip I may have to keep some of this behind with me:)
