258 Tasting Notes
Another sample from Bonnie! I’ve been saving this one to try it iced, it just seemed like one of those teas that would be perfect iced. It’s getting in the 80’s and 90’s already in Texas. I made this yesterday.
MMM I was right! This is great iced! All the berry flavors combine together in this delicious way without none really overpowering the other. I added just a bit of honey and it made it even better. It only seemed appropriate for something titled Bear Trap. I may have to buy this next time I place an order. Now that it’s finally heating up, I get to try all of the teas I love iced. It’s like a whole new world cue Disney music
I’m home for the Easter weekend and I found a wonderful little four cup teapot today for a great price. I can’t wait to knit a cozy for it :D
Anyway, I made this and definitely got to taste some of the creamy, rummy deliciousness I see everyone else talking about. And then suddenly, the horrible salty taste of San Angelo water overpowered everything else. I couldn’t even finish the poor cup. I’ll have my Brita filter pitcher over the summer at least. Hopefully that will help. And if not, I guess I’ll just stock up on water from the store :(
Received this from Amanda, thanks!
So this one is definitely interesting. It has big pieces of different spices. It seems like it would be nice and strong. And yet it’s quite mild. The whole time I was drinking it, I was trying to figure out what the smell reminded me of. It turns out, it’s pho!
I used to go to this pho restaurant in California, it was wonderful. I guess some of the spice in this chai were also used in the broth for the pho. It’s interesting, but I’m not sure how I feel about a pho broth latte
I must be on a chocolate kick today. I suddenly decided as I was getting ready for class that what I really needed was mint hot chocolate. And now this. Maybe I should just go ahead and have chocolate for dinner! (Actually I’m going to have Chick Fil A yum yum).
For some reason, I always expect this tea to taste like chocolate milk. Of course, it doesn’t. It has dark chocolate bits (some of which I may have eaten) that makes this a littler…deeper, for lack of a better word. It’s not just instant sweet chocolateness. If you go into this expecting a drinkable candy bar, you will be disappointed.I really enjoy this tea. Also, my mommy got it for me for Christmas. Yay mom! :) I have plenty left of this too, if anybody would like a sample.
This smells like cleaner when you open it! The smell does get better when you steep it at least. The flavor is mostly orange and nothing else. I can finish it, but I definitely won’t be buying more. Anyone want to try some?
Unrelated: I’m going to be placing a DAVIDsTEA order soon. Anybody have any suggestions? :)
Mmmm I finally got some of this in the loose leaf tin. The Big Lots near my parents house sells tins of the Earl Grey and English Breakfast for about $2! I always make sure to get some when I go visit home. But for some reason, they don’t have Lady Grey :( I have to resort to the internet. This will definitely be one of those that I always make sure to keep stocked up. Unfortunately, I keep seeming to forget about it and oversteep it. It’s really not you, Lady, it’s me.
