I was actually pleasantly surprised by the creamy flavor that comes through in this tea. When I read the description, I was thought, seriously? Creamy? But it’s there! The end result is a very smooth, very palatable tea that I would definitely recommend to others.
7 Tasting Notes
A friend gave me this as a gift, and I didn’t think it was so bad. It had more of an almond smell than a taste, but I was fairly okay with that. I wouldn’t rave, but I wouldn’t complain either.
1.5 t per 8 oz at 208 for 5 mins.
Definitely the best of the Teavana mates.
Strong, chocolately smell. Better, fuller flavor than the other mates—sort of reminiscent of coffee.
I had higher hopes for this one, but didn’t find it completely off putting. It was okay. The flavor was a bit weak for a mate, but I finished out the two ounces from Teavana without too much trouble.
Steeped 1.5 t per 8 oz at 208 for 5 mins.
Not a huge fan. Thought the flavor was weak. I had troubles finishing the two ounces I purchased.
Steep a t per 8 oz for 45 secs at 175.
It has a smooth, nutty flavor, coupled with a nice vegetal flavor.
I have it every day at work to remind me winter won’t last forever, haha.
Filled gourd part way. Shook out dust. Doused mate in cool water, making sure to slope the mate. Added hot water. Allowed to steep. Got some junk on the first pull (customary, but I’m thinking my terrible bombilla doesn’t help). Thought it was okay. :)
