Had a cup of this after lunch today, while reading a book. This is one of my mother’s favourite teas and I can see why. A brisk, happy cup that goes well with anything – straight, with lemon/sugar/milk/mint etc. Very easy to brew and right for every occasion

Backlogging a cup sipped with a friend after a hard and rather bland week. He usually drinks cheap Wissozky tea bags, and so having his pick of about a dozen or so black teas was a new experience for him. He picked this one based on its lovely caddy, and we both enjoyed it very much. Tea is such fun to share!

An evening with a very good friend catching up on each other’s lives.
Rain plashing on the windows and roof.
And two hot cups of goodness.

Finally figured out the best setup for drinking this tea. My best yixing teapot (which is also my largest, and so the huge huge leaves have plenty of room to spread out in), a large thermos (to save my lazy self from having to go and heat up more water), and 20-40 second steeps (starting from 20 and progressing onwards). I made 9 (!) steeps out of about a tablespoon of leaves, and the leaves were still not running flat. Their lovely fruity flavour just makes my day every time, and so I rushed off today and bought out all of Norbu’s stock. :) Beautiful tea, and undoubtedly my favourite so far.

Smart! Buy what you love when you can! Tea gives so much back!

I made the mistake once of relying on a tea that I loved to always be there when I wanted it, only to find out that it was sold out when I had run out of it. Never again, if I can help it:)

I love this tea more and more with every steep. It is very fruity and sweet and rich and smooth with a slight astringency that rounds it off. I’m drinking it after a long hard day, gongfu style (I’ve dedicated my best yixing teapot to it), and the taste just doesn’t seem to end. This is a tea that simply makes me happy.

Tried this tea gongfu style for the first time. The wet leaves didn’t smell nice at all, but the tea itself was pretty delicious. The amber liquor was was delicate, slightly astringent, with a smooth body and and a very lightly fruity flavour.

Had a cup of this to round up my day, plus two cups of Golden Nepal from a German tea company that I can’t seem to find logged here and I was too busy to enter.

Bio

An Israeli computer programmer with a passion for tea (mostly bought in yearly shopping sprees in the UK), particularly black, oolong and white. I don’t generally enjoy flavoured teas or herbal infusions, but if a tea sounds interesting and smells nice I’ll most definitely try it. I drink several cups of tea a day, usually one or two in the morning, another one after lunch and one or two in the evening. My favourite tea so far is Lao Cong Zi Ya from Norbu Tea, but I’m constantly trying new teas. Only in the past year have I branched into Pu’erh and non-roasted oolongs. Finding good tea in Israel is difficult, so I import most of my teas from yearly visits to London, or from online retailers. If you see something in my cupboard that sparks your interest and you would like to swap with me, then please message me. I’m almost always up for a swap.
