2014 Version of the tea.

I did it. I bought 100g. Then I looked at the size of the pitcher packs, and came home and made a pitcher of iced tea. 16g tea in 1L water, 2-3 tbsp sweetened condensed milk (not that sweet, could add more), and poured over THREE trays of ice to fill the 2L Takeya pitcher. What.

It’s good, but underleafed. I wouldn’t be happy with this tea if I got the pitcher packs. Much better yesterday with 5 tsps tea to 1L final product iced. That’d be ~23-25g of tea for 2L final product, and really close to the 3 tbsp I usually use. This is where Teavana has it right, recommending about 1/4 cup (4 tbsp) for one of these pitchers. While that’s more tea than what I’d use, pouring it over more ice and drinking it on a hot and melty day… it would be pretty close to perfect.

Moral of the story: I should buy loose, not pitcher packs. Overleafing is better. Sweetened condensed milk is awesome in “creamy” teas. Tea, tea, tea.

Also, neener to Sil.
