2291 Tasting Notes
Thank you, Fjellrev!
This tea is indeed very chocolatey. But I prefer the Harney and Sons chocolate to this one I think. Still, it’s not bad. It would be better with some coconut milk, but I am lazy and don’t want to go into the kitchen to get it.
Preparation
Oh tea with the ridiculously giggle-causing name, you are SO good.
Tonight, with a bit of Jamieson’s (because it’s in the cupboard), some maple syrup and a touch of coconut milk.
I know, I know. All those additives might hide the flavour. BUT THEY DON’T! It just amps up the delicious sweet honey chocolate booze notes in the tea. YUM.
Definitely on my shopping list.
Thanks, MissB!
Preparation
Omg… I was distracted…they had A caramel cream decaf…but not a regular version, so I got both caramel and cream to make my own….
Oooo, nice one Sil!
Yvonne, to me it’s definitely an Irish Cream type tea. Not really, but that sort of theme. It’s why it goes so well with whisk(e)y!
I think it’s meant to be an Irish Whiskey kinda tea… and thus the silly name (which, BTW, no one at tgteas had any idea it was that silly when I mentioned it). I still have quite a bit of this left, I keep on forgetting to drink it. Will do some tonight! Kapha too.. 100g is a LOT for that tea! I also grabbed some of the caramel creme decaf, I’m curious to see how it fares.
Nice! But I won’t mind 100g of this one. Only… I might not be able to get any due to exchange rates. BOO exchange!
Exchange rates? Boo. I get paid in US $… if you want I’ll order some for you. Also, I think you should bring more of this with you this weekend. Then when people ask what you’re drinking, you can just say, “O’Connor’s Cream”, and people will ask you, with nary a blink of the eye, if you can point out Monsieur O’Connor. ;)
I tried that tonight! Nothing. ;) I don’t want to deprive you of extra tea cash, MissB! It’s lovely of you to offer though.
Marco Polo, why have I treated you so wrong? Lost in the back of my tea cupboard, I found you this morning.
Yum yum. Fruity, vanilla, floral. The lower temp (an accident – I was impatient) worked well. A touch of honey, and I have delicious tea.
Thanks, CrowKettle!
(Tasting note 900! Wow.)
Preparation
Scary! :) I drink and log 2.34 teas per day (math!), but I drink way more than that. Multiple steeps, 2-3 liters of herbals instead of water, etc.
I’m nearing 400 and I thought that was scary. :P You know, you should look at like a public service – you’re letting us all know about these teas!
This one is thanks to VariaTEA!
I’m quite enjoying it. I think it’d be better with some milk (but I’m too lazy to go get some), as the base is a little strong. I added a small amount of honey which helped bring out the coconut.
For a coconut chai, I prefer Zhena’s Gypsy Chai because it’s sweeter, with more coconut and less base, but this one is pretty decent.
Preparation
So I tried this tonight. I don’t love it nearly as much as that ridiculous mint/lavender/cacao blend I got from MissB. Next time I think I’ll steep it on the stove in some almond milk. It was just too thin.
1 tbsp in 12 oz boiling for about 20 minutes.
I wonder how this would cold steep…
I decided to cold steep 1 tbsp each of Strawberry Cream by Zentea, Nana’s Fruit Garden by Herbal Republic, and Lemon Myrtle by Granville Island. It’s been 4.5 hours now and I thought I’d try.
Wow. Rooibos is really rooibosy when you cold steep, huh. The Lemon Myrtle is a tea I have a love-hate relationship with. It’s so weird, and so rooibos, and yet it’s so thirst quenching and amazing when flash chilled.
I think it’s best flash chilled. No more cold steeped Lemon Myrtle for me.
The other teas are providing some nice berry background, which is needed. They’re just not nearly as strong. Oh. Nana’s Fruit Garden SIPDOWN! I need to restock. :)
Thank you, Sil, but no. This tastes like toasted wakame or nori.
Most definitely not what I want my tea to taste like. Let’s see if my brother likes it. :)
Preparation
Sipdown!
Made a batch of this flash chilled tonight. Shared it with a friend. It’s SO delicious. Once my Passionfruit is gone, I’m refilling the tin with this!
OM NOM NOM.
Preparation
I think I need more recommendations for non-caffeinated teas I can cold steep or flash chill. Anyone? :)
I just tried a cold steep of Lemon Chiffon and it turned out really well. I was inspired by Sil. And I have Lime Chiffon cold steeping right now.
I’ve yet to really venture into cold-steeping, unfortunately, however I’d most definitely try Eucalyptus Grapefruit from HI, or Bamboo Pomelo from Tea Gschwendner.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the Della Terra chiffon teas, but I’ll keep them in mind for the next order I do with them. :) I have the eucalyptus grapefruit and it’s so good! I just got a sample tho. I need to do an order. And sadly I can’t do the Bamboo Pomelo due to licorice. :(
I do have a couple at Bayswater to try. Maybe I’ll go there first, then plot an HI and Tealux order for my birthday. :) Maybe TeaG as well, since I do like the Kapha.
Do you do a spreadsheet OMGsrsly? Are you one of us? I just started adding a cold-steep column in so I can track which ones are good cold. That won’t help you now but in the future at least.
How soon is your birthday? If you’re ordering from HI you might want to do it sooner than later as the shipping is still a little slow.
