2291 Tasting Notes
I only have one more cup of this. :(
It is delightful. The spiced apples and a slight effervescent feel = amazing. Yes, if this were available I’d totally buy it. I need to try more of Butiki’s caffeine free offerings!
And really, if the Cider Guayusa tasted more like this, I would be drinking that all the time. Sadly the Guayusa overpowered everything else for me.
I wonder how well this re-steeps.
Preparation
Nom.
Om nom nom.
So good. With a little maple syrup it’s like candy. Ginger-spice candy.
Preparation
This is the 50/50 blend from Cavocorax.
It’s… weird. Sadly, even though I just shook it with ice and cold almond milk, it’s bitter.
The bubblegum flavour is pretty much SUGAR. It’s really sweet feeling, even with just unsweetened almond milk. The caramel I had yesterday wasn’t nearly as sweet.
I also feel like I should be chewing it.
Ugh.
While this is interesting, it is definitely not for me. Thank you for the sample, Cavo, but I think the rest of it will be donated to the grass outside.
While this is a delicious assam, especially with a wee bit of maple syrup, I think there are others I prefer.
This is a delightful kick in the pants. Nice and strong, loads of assam flavours (ha), smooth with a bit of a bite.
Thanks, Sil, for sharing this with me. :D No, I didn’t share this one with my brother. He’s been loving puerhs and toasted oolongs more than the black teas lately.
Preparation
Sorry, VariaTEA, I just walked back to my desk with the last mug of this one, to see you wanted to try it!
I finished off the last bit of this and supplemented it with a pinch of Murchie’s Gunpowder Green. Just for some extra body, because I wanted a big mug full of deliciousness.
And it worked! I’m not having this with any creamer tonight, and I’m finding it delicious. The toasty flavours in the Gunpowder Green blend well with the toasted nuts.
This is definitely something I’d pick up if it became available again. It holds milk and sugar well, is nice plain, and the toasted nuts/sugar/spice flavour work really well for me.
Preparation
Robust sample from Sil.
I decided to try this cold, just shaken up with unsweetened almond milk and ice. A+! Wow, that’s good! I’d probably get Distinctive if I decide to order, but the Robust is good too.
Mmm, creamy frosty caramel.
Roswell Strange had the bubblegum in milk and said it reminded her of a bubblegum milkshake. Though that still sounded weird to me, I realized that I like bubblegum ice cream and I feel as though one is not a far stretch from the other. It is worth trying at least.
Ooh, I haven’t had bubblegum ice cream in ages. Actually, I wonder how the matcha would be if I made a custard or tapioca pudding and stirred in some sifted matcha. Hmm.
I would love to hear how that works out if you do that. You always talk about such tasty homemade goods.
Since I’m gluten free, I cook for myself about 90% of the time. :) Thankfully it’s something I love to do!
My roommate is trying to eat gluten free so usually about once a week we make a gluten free loaf. I am always impressed at how incredibly tasty they are and often super healthy because they use like 3/4 cup coconut flour and minimal sugars/sweetners. Once she made a gluten free carrot cake that was absolutely AMAZING!
Ooh. Recipe? :) I love baking gluten free, but I’m trying to move away from always using starches instead of flours with fibre in them. I haven’t tried many recipes based on coconut flour, but I have a bunch I want to use!
I can ask her but she is someone who finds a recipe but then uses it as a guide and then ends up not really paying attention. And then everything works out awesomely. For instance, I know for the carrot cake she ended up screwing up and like doubling the quantity of carrots in the mix. I will look into it though.
Typically my role is to just do what I am told. That is usually mashing the bananas and measuring out dry ingredients.
:D Awesome. I tend to do that as well. Doubling the veg in a cake and halving the sugar right at the start. :) I actually just made tapioca pudding (without matcha) because I wanted to try using mashed dates instead of sugar, and coconut milk (from a can). The mashed dates worked great, but it is definitely a coconut pudding! Next time I’ll try it with almond breeze and vanilla matcha.
My sample is a little mushed, so it’s gone a bit to astringent… but wow! This is really tasty! Nice and sweet and fruity.
Thanks, MissB!
Preparation
Oh delightful. Definitely caffeine-free, and yet warm and comforting and delicious. I really like this one. Chocolate, vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon, chicory. And rooibos off in the background.
While I like this tea well enough, I don’t get strawberry or rhubarb. More citrus. I think it’s been contaminated. :( Oh well. I’ll still drink the rest of my sample from Sil, and would be willing to try again!
It’s tart citrus to me, so… yeah.
