2291 Tasting Notes
I’m already almost finished my second steep of this tea. I made two huge mugs of it, as my tummy isn’t too happy about the amount of sugar and dairy I’ve been consuming the last couple days.
So delicious with a little honey. The second steep sat for a while, so it’s all about the ginger. I don’t mind at all. :)
Preparation
Hmm. Needs to be overleafed. Is oily. Has floaties. Incredibly sweet.
Good thing I like the flavour. :)
Just with some soy creamer. The spices are so nice right now. It doesn’t make me crave a pumpkin pie, though. Not similar enough to my mom’s recipe, and I’m not sure there’s really any pumpkin in there.
(I used 1 heaping tbsp in a 16oz mug.)
Preparation
The new package of this I opened this morning has only a few tea leaves. Oh well! Sweet mulberries and coconut, it still tasted great. I’m so glad I found this one 2/$5. But I need to start drinking it more, as I still have 50g unopened.
Preparation
Another sipdown! Not too sad to see this one go. It’s enjoyable enough, but unless you manage to get a lot of star anise in your bag it’s hard to get full flavour in every cup.
I did get it as a 2/$5, so no worries there. It was definitely worth the money!
Now to figure out what to bring to work…
Preparation
I forgot about this on the counter. I originally tried making it in the steeper I got today, but the jar exploded on my counter (I lost two teas from Pekoe Tea House, oops). After I cleaned up the resulting mess, I made it again. And sat down. And played on the internet, as one does.
So this steeped for at least 15 minutes. It’s very medicinal-rooibos. I quite like it, but I’m not sure I’d get it again. I still have a bunch of “Lemon Verbena” from Granville Island that sort of fills that niche. The cranberry and juniper are really nice in here, though. Tart berry flavours, some weird juniper flavours. They work well with the rooibos.
If you like rooibos, or medicinal teas, definitely give this a go.
Preparation
I haven’t had this one in a while, but thanks to my goal of drinking one non-black tea a day, I thought I’d give this a go.
It’s orangey, and floral, creamy, buttery, green. Sweet. Perfumed.
Not really my usual cup of tea, but definitely something I’m enjoying right now. :)
Thanks, CrowKettle. I have 1 tsp left. When will I drink it? Soon, I hope!
Preparation
This one is pretty good. I’m glad I only got a sample, though. I’m not sure that Vanilla Tea is for me.
It’s a little bitter when steeped. Even after adding a little milk and sugar. It’s also a little too much like artificial vanilla extract, rather than rich vanilla beans. Since my sugar has a couple vanilla pods in it, I’m pretty certain of the differences.
While I’m glad I tried this, I think I’m going to add it to the Swap List. (Sorry Victoria, you’re out of luck. Your package is already all taped up!)
Preparation
i have a bunch of vanilla teas i can send you at some point to see if it’s vanilla teas or that particular tea.
I’m sending hers to ShayneBear. But sure I’ll hassle her. :) (Do you see this, Incendiare? Sil wants your address!)
Certainly makes pressuring people into giving addresses a lot easier. :D Which means, I’m off to the post office to mail your box!
Yum. Black tea in the morning >>> coffee.
This is my third rewrite. That’s all you get.
(PS. I want more of this one, wow.)
Preparation
Mm, I just placed another order with them a few days ago. I want to try their newer tea and the white tea. Of course, I had to get more of this one too! :)
So good. Another company on my list. I might bump them up tho as most of the stuff I’ve purchased recently is flavored.
At least most of the stuff I bought are samples. I totally forgot about my Zentea order. Have to go pick it up at 4. Then come back to work to finish the science. :/
A good tea to drink today. I began my day with a Kenyan tea also. A toast to the Memory of Nelson Mandela with a tea from Africa. What a great soul.
Yes, I couldn’t believe it when I heard about Nelson Mandela today. This is a fitting tea.
Ah, Heather, You have the purple Wanja tea. It’s special.
Whoops. Another tea that I forgot to add to my cupboard at some point.
This one is pretty good. A bit medicinal, a bit rooibosy. Reminds me a lot of those British blackcurrant licorice candies. Mmm, so good.
I preemptively put about 1/2 tsp rock sugar chunks into my basket as I steeped the tea, just because the scent made me crave candy. Mmm, candy. :)
If you like ribena or those candies I mentioned, this is one to try. If not, or if you really dislike rooibos… stay away! :) I will probably get more of this once my stash has diminished somewhat.
