2291 Tasting Notes
I, uhh, double bagged this one tonight. Yes, tea with caffeine at 11pm. Why? Because I feel like it.
I’m supposed to be finishing up a presentation for a meeting tomorrow, but I don’t wanna. I should have enough time to do it in the morning if I don’t sleep through my alarm. Again.
Anyways. With a dollop of cream, this is really nice. Didn’t feel a need to add sugar to this cup for some reason. Maybe because it smells so incredibly sweet. Chocolaty, biscuity, and I can even taste the white tea today.
I need to remember this is in my cupboard so I can drink it all ASAP.
Preparation
I hadn’t had this one in a while, and saw it tonight when I was rummaging through my teas.
Mmm. So much vanilla. I really like this tea, especially with a tiny bit of cream and vanilla sugar. :) Tried a longer steep tonight, but I think I’ll stick with 3 minutes.
Preparation
Sipdown (that wasn’t in my cupboard!).
Yum.
Yum, yum, yum.
I totally cooked the leaves by not paying attention and using almost boiling water. Still, the flavours are awesome. Lemon cake. So good.
This one would be a worthy option to pick up in my next order!
(Of course the H&S site says:
Brewing Time No
Brewing Temperature No
So… yeah.)
Preparation
A sample from CrowKettle who got it from Fiddling!
Not as lemony as I expected, but still quite good. This is definitely something I need to get a sample pack of with my next order from H&S.
It’s quite a murky looking green tea, but something about the flavour is just.. I like it.
Preparation
Sipdown! Thanks, Heather!
This tea is definitely berry. The berry flavour, especially after adding a tiny bit of sugar (1/8 tsp for 1 cup), is nice and juicy. I don’t really get maple from it, but that’s OK. I’m sure I could have brought it out by adding maple syrup to the tea instead of sugar. :)
While I’m enjoying this cup, I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to get some. There are other fruity teas I prefer (Fruits D’Alsace) to this one, as the base teas are more in line with my tastes.
Preparation
Sipdown. Thanks, Incendiare!
This one is realllly disappointing to me. The dry leaves smelled SO GOOD. Chocolate, sweet sugary milkshake.
I made it as a latte with some unsweetened almond milk and water, then added sugar. It’s (really) tasty, but does not live up to the promise of how it smells. :(
Definitely would be willing to try this again (maybe not as a latte, or with more leaves, or something!) as it smells SO delicious.
My rating is :( , which is not numerically translatable.
Preparation
Sipdown!
So the first time I tried this tea, I wasn’t such a fan. Too much bitter walnut skin in my cup. After having a few cups, though, this is really nice. Not sure if I’ll add it to a future order (there are other teas I “need” more from Butiki!), but would definitely be glad to be a recipient of it.
Today I added a small amount of brown sugar, and I’m getting a lot of banana. So neat. Yum. :)
Preparation
Oh, hey! I recognize the flavour of the sea buckthorn now thanks to Redberry Tonic from DavidsTea.
Pretty cool, that.
I haven’t had this in a while, but I really do like this one. I only have a couple cups left, but will be signing up for Teavana emails so I don’t miss a sale. I’d really like to get more of this one, but… I don’t want to go into the store.
This evening, I bagged the tea and am leaving the bag in my cup as I refill it over and over with hot water. Yep.
Preparation
Oops. Missed one. Back up to 184!
I also missed my 500th tasting note, so hello 503! Wow.
Anyways.
This one is tasting soapy to me right now. It tastes like a genmaicha, but with soap. :(
I have enough for one more cup, so I’ll try again another time.
Preparation
oh hah woops i probably confused things. by deleting my first comment. but i realized twinsies wasn’t accurate because i only log each tea once blah blah blah, but still we are totally both on the same tea train! choo choo
I’m kinda glad I haven’t tried 500 different teas yet. I can’t imagine how the tea would have taken over my apartment by this point. :) It’s a noble goal. One day. :)
Sipdown! Yay!
I went through and reorganized my Real Life cupboard as well as my Steepster cupboard. This sipdown means 183 teas! YAY! I am giving away a bunch of teas I know a friend will like, and there is another bunch that will be up for grabs on the Steepster boards if no one from Facebook takes them.
Such a relief.
I hit the sweet spot on this tea today. A touch of creamer and brown sugar, and it tastes amazing. Caramel, pumpkin spice, a bit of a cream cheese note… Yummers.
