2291 Tasting Notes
Sip down! Made this one this afternoon, with some cold water added to the boiling water we get from the hot water tap. It was so good and comforting, yay!
This one is definitely on the reorder list. I can mistreat it and the flavour carries the tea. It doesn’t taste terribly bitter or astringent or anything, and everyone wonders what smells so good. :)
Preparation
Nom nom freaking nom. I did two steeps of this today, the first one I made in a thermos before I left home, and I added a tonne of honey (I’m sick… boo!). It steeped for about 3 hours so it was extremely flavourful and delicious, and the honey helped with the throat scratchies puerh seems to intensify. I steeped it again for a couple hours, and it was just weak. If I’m going to steep this one over throughout the day, I think I need to steep it for 5-10 minutes, pour it into another mug to drink, then steep the leaves again in the thermos. Otherwise all the goodness gets pulled out with the first steep!
Sadly, I’m going to have to put this one away till I’m feeling better, as the throat scratchies were very sad-making.
Preparation
This tea is surprisingly spicy. The leaves are green and brown. I have no brain left as I had to get up this morning to temp at 7am.
I like it, although it is a bit over the top with the spice, which isn’t backed up so well with the oolong. If it were an herbal chai blend I’d be more likely to try to keep it stocked, but even as it is I think I’ll occasionally be stopping by a Teavana to replenish.
I had it with milk and sugar. Not much, just enough to try to make it richer/creamier. Didn’t really work.
Preparation
I got suckered into the $10 off $20 sbux Teavana coupon, and bought 4 teas (spent $20! Super pleased with myself!).
This is the first one I decided to try. It’s OK. Yes, it’s nutty, but I taste the flavouring and there’s very little oolong. It might be contributing to the metallic taste, but I’m going to attribute that to the flavour.
Not one I’d get again, but it’s good enough for a caffeine boost at work tomorrow! Doesn’t need milk and sugar, but is somewhat improved by it.
