THIS… IS… THEBESTTEA… I… HAVEFOUND… IN… AGES.

I cannot imagine anyone disliking a single thing about this tea. Even me… usually I’m not a mint person. But I cannot drink enough of this. It’s incredible. A very new blend from Rishi, and it’s sure to get rave reviews once people start trying it.

Also… I was incredibly impressed to see the reference to Yak butter tea that is a rumoured delicacy from Tibet. I’ve heard of Yak butter tea on numerous occasions now due to the personal interest I take in that part of the world, and have yet to come across anything that would compare to it.

Rishi’s reference to this rarity is what sold me, but the tea’s taste is what I’ve found to be beyond impressive, and is sure to please.

Whoa, Yak butter tea is a new one for me. This sounds SUPER interesting.

Oh Cha!

Wikipedia will give you a lovely overview of Butter Tea if you’d like to know more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butter_tea
I believe I saw either Andrew Zimmern or Anthony Bourdain from the Travel Channel try butter tea also! I’ll have to see if I can find the clip online.

But yes, the accounts I’ve heard of many Americans who have tried Butter tea say that it is not to their liking – however they usually credit their “American palate” as the reasoning for their distaste for it.
Nonetheless, I am curious to try it for myself!

On a related note; Rishi recommends that you try brewing the delectable Pu-erh Vanilla Mint like you would a chai – half water, half milk, and slightly sweetened… I haven’t had the opportunity yet, because I need more! But as soon as my order arrives that is the first thing I am going to do :) I’m really looking forward to it!

drank Samurai Chai Maté by Teavana

I told myself that to avoid spending money I would just try the samples and continue walking PAST Teavana.
Bugger.
I had to buy this. It’s delectable… truly… AND… it’s a Mate?! By the taste, I never would have guessed it! Forgive me for saying this… but it tastes too good to be a Mate!
LOVE IT.

ALSO… I’ve found it is best blended and sweeted the way they do it at Teavana. 50:50 Samurai Chai Mate & White Chai, with a bit of rock cane sugar to sweeten… YUM!

Very good. I am not much of a ginger person, and even I like this.
I don’t go crazy over it though. However, last time I had friends over for another home cooked dinner made by yours truly, after one sip their faces lit up! THEY LOVED IT. Each of them lost their minds over this tea, and insisted on knowing where I got it from.
So not the right tea for me most days, but what a crowd pleaser!

Also… it’s magnificent for hangovers. :)

Profile

Bio

I’m a foodie. I’ve worked in tea professionally, and the obsession never left. I’ve also worked at a wine bar (with cheese, truffles & charcuterie) and a teahouse/restaurant (with excellent artisan pairing dishes) on the side.
So I’ve done a lot of tasting… and you’ll notice I bring up food pairing a lot!

I’m all about sharing recipes and recommendations, so please feel free to throw any of yours my way, and should you ask I’ll be happy to do the same. I’m also old school with my brewing methods – so if you have any questions of brewing or artisan teaware, feel free to ask.

Activities:
Drinking artisan tea, indulging in an entire bottle of wine, savouring microbrewed beer, making everything from scratch, putting cheese on/with everything like a true Wisconsinite, spending months’ worth of paychecks on Amazon, and flipping through and smelling the pages of books I surely won’t get to for another 8-10 years.
