250 Tasting Notes
I have never had a Dragonfruit before…but if it tastes anything like this tea, I think I’ll love it!
This is one of the Teavana teas that I think I’m gonna always have. It’s not overly sweet, and not too bitter. It’s just a mix of both. I really do enjoy this one. A nice tea that won’t make me awake too! :P
So gets bonus points haha!
Flavors: Bitter, Fruity, Lemongrass, Sweet
So this is the second time around of trying this. This time I got it from Culinary Teas in exchange for a review. They really did give a generous sample too-definitely a few teaspoons here!
I don’t think I noticed the dry leaves smell before-but with this batch I definitely smell the toffee in it. Though, as it steeps it’s replaced by that burnt sugar smell, that never gives high hopes.
It tastes how I remember. Lots of caramel and butterscotch!
And this time I am noticing the toffee in the aftertaste. That’s the flavor that lingers the most after. Don’t know why I didn’t catch it so much before, but this time around it seems all there. The Butterscotch. Caramel. Toffee.
And the black base of this one gives it so much more depth and richness. Really digging it.
This is like the perfect dessert tea. Or at least one of them! And it definitely deserves a higher rating!
Think I’ll even get more of this in the future. Any dessert tea lover would adore this tea!
Flavors: Bitter, Butterscotch, Caramel, Sugar, Sweet, Toffee
This was in my surprise birthday package from The Cookie Lady. She told me she couldn’t remember what it was. And now that I’ve tasted it I think it’s a jasmine tea!
Least that’s what it tastes like to me. Not bad at all!
The leaves are rolled up into little pearls, which I really love! They’re so unique and pretty! Thank you for the generous sample, The Cookie Lady! You’re fantastic! (:
One of the biggest and main reasons as to why I haven’t shut the door totally on green tea is because one of the first teas my dad brought home from China for me was a green tea and I was absolutely in love with it!
The writing was only in Mandarin on the package, so I still have no idea what it is. I just remember what it looks like. And it looks really really similar to Dragon Well.
These leaves are a bit rougher and thinner than the green tea I loved. So It might have been a different kind of dragonwell or…a tea very similar to this one.
Haven’t figured it out. xD
Even if this isn’t the tea I loved, this tea sure is good!
It tastes like spinach (which I love!), and it’s actually kinda roasty. I kinda actually…dare I say this…
I actually like this tea.
Really surprised by this one. A green tea that it’s Genmaicha that I actually like. :O Well, there’s a first for everything. But my quest for the tea I used to drink must continue.
I will enjoy the rest of this sample though. (:
Albertocanfly, you should be proud of me drinking green tea!
Flavors: Grass, Roasted, Spinach
So, this is my last tea from my swap with Rie T sadly
The tag on this last tea(which is genmaicha with matcha) it says:
“From my relative. This is very typical genmaicha for home use, with added matcha powder in this version.”
So it’s even more legit! :P
This one isn’t as strong as the other genmaicha teas I’ve had tonight. But it’s not bad. Still has that extra sweetness from the matcha that I really like. Glad I got to try this.
Thank you, Rie T.!
Well, I’ve decided I’m on a green tea kick tonight. Have so many things I need to try before Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales so gotta hurry and try all these samples so it will give me a better idea what to buy.
This one is probably the win of the night so far though!
Can’t believe it took me so long to try this one.
I love the extra sweetness the matcha adds to the genmaicha. It’s just the perfect combo. Would definitely buy more of this! :D
Flavors: Spinach, Sweet, Toasted Rice
Alright. This review is gonna be…weird. xD
So. When I was younger I had a bad habit of eating chapstick/lip gloss. Lip Smackers was my favorite of course. It just always tasted so good, way too good to pass up trying.
Don’t do it anymore, but I definitely remember how it tastes.
And this tea…the fake chocolate taste TOTALLY tastes like a lip smackers chapstick I ate before. Tastes exactly like chapstick…well, with a hint of toasted rice of course. But it’s just….I don’t know.
It is taking me back to my chapstick eating days…And I don’t know how to feel about it!
I think I prefer unflavored genmaicha better though!
Oh! And thanks to Albertocanfly for making me all nostalgic with this tea! XD
Flavors: Chocolate, Toasted Rice
