737 Tasting Notes
Oh my goodness, I really wasn’t expecting this tea to be all that great. I thought it was just gonna be another roasty oolong.
I was partially right because it’s kinda roasty, but it also is floral. And totally tastes like flowers. Which is different from being floral.
It tastes like a lighter, sweeter floral…which reminds me of flowers. Therefore to me, I would say the main flavors are flowers and something roasted.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this one! (:
Thank you so much for the sample, LiberTEAS!
A nice finish for caffeinated teas tonight. Now onto the decaf teas, once again! (:
Flavors: Floral, Flowers, Honey, Roasted, Smooth, Sweet
“Char, Cream, Floral, Honey, Mineral, Coconut, Orchid, Vanilla”
That is what this tea is described as….
Really? The only two things of all those that I taste is char and mineral. It’s a super roasty oolong. Not a hint of honey or floral or anything else.
Definitely bummed out by this one. :/ Oh well, least it was only a sample!
Flavors: Char, Earth, Mineral, Roasted
I find that brewing this tea takes a bit of practice and on the heavy end it can taste like char and perfume spray. When brewed more lightly (less leaf/time), the flavors are incredibly complex, the aroma of orchids just fills the room and all those floral/fruity notes become abundant. My first few experiments with it I had just an average opinion of this tea, but as I tried more ways of brewing it, it has become my favorite Da Hong Pao. :3
Oh my goodness, this has to be one of the strongest floral teas I’ve ever had-at least smell wise. The dry leaf smell was super strong. When I steeped it the strong aroma went away a bit.And when I began to drink the tea, the strong floral notes came back.
The buttery flavor actually threw me off in this one. It smelled so strong that I didn’t think it would be buttery at all, because usually I can smell it before.
But the buttery flavor wasn’t overwhelming. It gave it more depth.
I really love this tea! Definitely one I’d buy again, but only in a really good sale because it’s kinda a lot of money. And the smallest oz you can get of this one, other than the sample tin is a 4oz bag. So that’s kinda annoying.
Well, definitely a good tea to remember for next year’s Black Friday sale! :P
Flavors: Butter, Floral, Smooth
Hmm….This one is rather interesting. Being a white tea, it’s pretty light in flavor. Was kinda expecting more flavor though, since everyone is saying it tastes like a cookie.
Sadly it doesn’t taste like anything baked to me. On the bright side, it doesn’t taste super buttery either-thank God!
It actually kinda reminds me of an Irish Breakfast tea. It’s creamy with a ever so slight hint of malt at the end of each sip. So it really reminds me of an Irish Breakfast tea. Which is good.
Not a bad tea, but I just wish it were a lot stronger! Disappointed it was so light! Oh well.
Flavors: Creamy, Malt, Sweet
So got a sample of this one from LiberTEAS! Actually was tempted to buy this one since this company had a great sale last week, but I resisted.
Glad I did, because I am not such a fan of this cup. I can’t pin point the flavor. It is kinda mineral-y, earthy, kinda grape-y. It is a very weird tea. xD
No flavor is really popping out of this tea. There doesn’t seem to be much of a main flavor. So it’s okay, but just not the best. Glad I got a sample of it instead of wasting my money though!
Flavors: Earth, Grapes, Mineral, Wet Rocks
Ah, I love this tea!! I haven’t had it in like 5 months. And Virginia had only sent me enough for a couple cups. So this is my first time having it since! I absolutely love it still!
It’s ever so slightly woody, but overall it’s super sweet and delicious!
Been a rough day, and I’m glad to have this to cheer me up!
So amazingly delicious!
I finally have a 100g tin!!!! Yah!! :D :D
Flavors: Cake, Creamy, Pancake Syrup, Sweet
Another fantastic oolong! This one didn’t have any butter smells or flavors at all. It was very strictly floral. Which I’m totally down with.
Though I feel like it has less depth, and is slightly less strong than the other Tie Guan Yin I had the other day from Yezi. Which is kinda sad, but I really like this one too. xD So we are all good, haha!
Flavors: Floral, Smooth
This smells strongly of coconut, which doesn’t really fit the name, but whatever I guess. xD
Been wanting to try this tea recently, and in my order, they sent this as one of the samples! So my lucky day, right?? :D
The flavor is mainly coconut to me, and hints of walnut throughout the cup…But not really too nutty. I was expecting it to be a lot more nutty, since Davids’ seems to make their nutty teas WAYYYYYYYYY too nutty to me xD
But they did okay with this one. I was pleasantly surprised.
It’s very sweet, and coconut-y. Not bad at all!
But wouldn’t drink more of it. Just happy to try!
Flavors: Coconut, Sweet, Walnut
Another sample from The Persimmon Tree Tea….This one is definitely better than Adagio’s version of a Peach tea. It’s really strong and fruity, almost kinda sour, actually. But the aftertaste reminds me of Adagio’s version-has that burnt peach taste. :/
So that combined with the sourness that’s in every sip, I’m not really a huge fan. It’s a drinkable peach tea, and I’ve definitely had worse. But I’ve also definitely had better too!
Flavors: Burnt, Fruity, Peach, Sour, Tart
