737 Tasting Notes
I’ve been wanting to try more of The Persimmon Tree’s tea for a while now.
And were nice enough to send me samples in exchange for reviews!
I’ve tried a few of their teas now and have really enjoyed them, so I have high hopes for these samples!
As many of you know, I’ve started on a quest to find more relaxing teas to drink like chamomile. And since I’ve always only had bagged chamomile from Celestial Seasonings I decided to try a loose leaf chamomile!
Plus banana and coconut are flavors I love, so of course I had to try this one!
The dry leaf smell was sweet and slightly banana-ish, but nothing too overwhelmingly strong.
But the taste was quite different. It was sweet and light, hardly any signs of banana and coconut. There was very faint hints of banana in this tea, but nothing to be super excited about. I was hoping for more flavor than just chamomile, but it seems like chamomile is a difficult flavor to hide. :S
In comparison to other chamomiles I’ve had (which aren’t too many sadly), it’s actually pretty good. While I wish it had more banana and coconut flavors, it still has hints of those two here and there.
I did enjoy this tea the two times I had it, and once they have another really good sale like they did a few months ago, I would definitely pick this one up!
I would like to play around with this one a little more. Perhaps there is a way to bring out the flavors more!
Anyway, overall, it’s a nice and calming tea. Definitely is relaxing, and perfect to drink when I’m drugged up! Glad I got to try this! I’ll have to get more in the future! (:
Thanks to the Persimmon Tree Tea for this one! :D

Got this tea in a swap with Zach S. a couple weeks back. I figured since I loved Honeydew and Melon Oolong, I should try Melon White also. Just so I will have tried all of the melon type teas from Lupicia.
While Golden Honeydew and Melon Oolong taste pretty similar, this one is actually quite different.
The dry leaf smell smells a lot like Melon Oolong, which is nice.
But as for flavor, it doesn’t really taste like either of those other teas. :(
In fact, it tastes a lot like Republic of Tea’s Honeydew, that reminded me of cucumber water. xD Except this tea is a lot lighter and less sweet than RoT’s Honeydew. :S So yeah…not a huge fan of this one.
Glad I tried it though! Think I will be passing this one off to someone else. :S
Flavors: Cucumber, Sweet
I’ve been putting Lupicia teas in my tumbler to take to work over the last week…But I hate doing that since I don’t resteep the leaves at work or anything. Kinda a waste since those teas are expensive!
And it’s like, I want something light, that’s not gonna make me get sick, but at the same time will make me awake.
So I have been trying to find an alternative.
Yesterday I took Glitter & Gold, and that was okay, but not really something I wanted to drink in the morning.
And this morning I took this tea.
I figured that it was a lighter jasmine, and I wouldn’t feel bad to just use the bag for a one time use.
And you know what? I think I found my morning tea. Or at least one of them!
I forget how refreshing jasmine tea is. It makes me feel so awake and alive. Not in an antsy way, but in a more relaxed/refreshed way, if that makes sense.
And it wasn’t too strong, So I didn’t get sick! When I finished it I was craving more, right away. Maybe I should bring an extra tea bag to work with me.
I’m just kinda not on board with using microwaved water for my tea….:S
But may be worth it for this tea.
Anyway-this was a great morning tea! Happy to have this one!
I’ve been super curious about this tea, since I’m a big Della Terra fan! But I figured it would be super cinnamon-y, so I didn’t want to buy any. Thankfully, Rosehips sent me a generous sample! :D
The dry leaf of this tea smells like pure cinnamon, and even while steeping it continued to smell like that. So I wasn’t too hopeful while I waited for it to cool.
When I finally drank it, I was pleasantly surprised.
It wasn’t dominated by cinnamon at all!
The pumpkin was the most present flavor, with a touch of cinnamon and spices.
It’s one of the better pumpkin teas I’ve had (Though I haven’t tried too many :P).
Sadly, I couldn’t finish the entire cup of this one since I had to eat dinner, but I look forward to trying it again. Rosehips gave me enough for a few cups. Super generous of her! Glad I got to try this finally. Thank you so much, Rosehips!! :D
On a side note though!
EIGHT CANDLES AND EGG NOG ARE FINALLY BACK IN STOCK AT DELLA TERRA!!!!!!!!!!!!
They didn’t officially annouce it yet, so I was surprised to see them up on their website. I’ve been waiting for so long it feels like!! And finally they are back! If you haven’t tried them, but love dessert teas, try them!! They are both incredible!! :D
Flavors: Cinnamon, Pumpkin, Spices
Okay…There is definitely something about silver needle that makes me crave it so much. I don’t even know….
The first time I tried Silver needle, I thought it was so-so, since it mainly just tasted like hay. But the week after I tried it, I was craving it again! Even with Teavana’s Body+Mind blend that has silver needle in it, I used to crave that all of the time!
And I just had this yesterday, but I’ve been craving it all day! I don’t get it. xD
And I have lots of other Jasmine teas…but the thought of having one of the other kinds was not as appealing as this one in particular.
xD
I don’t get me. I clearly don’t make sense. xD My cravings for Silver Needle tea is just the weirdest thing. Not even my favorite kind of tea either! XD Oy.
Anyway, having this again.
And it’s really hitting the spot finally! XD
This is the Assam I’ve been searching for!!!!
It’s strong, malty, and delicious!
It has a slight woody taste, but the malty flavors cover it up almost entirely! If you’re looking to try a good malty assam, this is definitely the tea to try!
I’m surprised there are not more tasting notes of this tea! I might have to pick some of this up. It’s just that good. :O
Flavors: Malt, Wood
Soooo apparently not that many people have had this tea here, since there is only one other tasting note. xD But I will review anyway! :P
Wasn’t too sure of this one either, since I haven’t tried many Ceylon teas. The only other one I tried was from Tea At Sea, and it just tasted like I was drinking honey. But that was a few months ago, and I’m sure my tastes have changed. Actually, I know they have!
This one doesn’t taste only like honey. There are definitely honey notes in this tea, but it’s in danger of being dominated by the woodiness. D:
The sweetness in this tea is nice, it’s just the wood taste that I’m not too fond of. It’s not terrible though. I think I’d still like to try other Ceylon Teas. The honey notes were still present, and made the woodiness bearable.
So not bad, but I think I’ll hand the rest of this sample off to someone else!
Flavors: Honey, Sweet, Wood
Got a sample of this from Capital Teas Ltd! Still surprised at how big their samples are. xD 20g seems like so much-haha!
Anyway! This one is actually better than I expected.
When I opened the bag, I was hit by a strong, fruity aroma. Almost tart even, which made me not so sure. But while it steeped, a more chocolatey, dark aroma replaced the fruitiness.
Which is actually odd because this tea doesn’t really taste like chocolate at all. xD
As for the flavor; the caramel and fruity flavors are light, but not overwhelming. The black tea base is definitely present in this tea, which makes it taste much stronger.
Caramel is probably the biggest flavor in this tea. And the frutiness is more in the aftertaste.
So overall it’s not bad! Better than I expected. A nice, light flavored tea that’s not too overwhelming in any way. Definitely worth the try if you ever order from there! (:
Flavors: Caramel, Chocolate, Fruity, Sweet, Tart
So…I don’t know if I should add this as a new tea, since it’s not 2013 anymore…but I am feeling lazy right now. This is from their recent autumn harvest though. xD
This one definitely tastes different than their Spring Tieguanyin. I didn’t think it would taste much different to be honest, but it definitely does.
When the tea was still super hot, it had a weird sourness to it. But as it cooled, I realized that it was just kinda nutty.
It’s like a floral nut tea.
Wasn’t expecting that at all xD
The nuttiness definitely add a certain sweetness to it, that’s unexpected.
But it’s not horrible. Still really strongly floral. So it’s all good for me. :p But I definitely like the Spring harvest better!
Flavors: Floral, Nuts, Sweet
The tasting notes for this tea were super good, so I decided to order some.
I don’t know what I was expecting exactly, but I feel ever so slightly disappointed with this one. I mean, it’s a good jasmine, don’t get me wrong.
It’s just really light, much like silver needle is anyway.
It just tasted like a light jasmine tea. Probably as light as a jasmine can be (which isn’t super light, since it’s such a strong flavor anyway xD).
I’ll definitely enjoy the rest of this. It’s a lovely jasmine tea. Just nothing to write home about!
