737 Tasting Notes
So, I was gonna buy this, but people said it wasn’t that were maple-y. Instead I just ordered a bag of Snickerdoodle. Really wanted to get samples of this tea and Pumpkin Chai since it’s so popular and I’m scared of wasting my money, but I only got a sample of this one. Still happy about that though!
When I opened this bag it just smelled like cinnamon apples, so that made me a little disappointed.
Flavor is slightly better. Still mainly getting cinnamon apples, but with a little bit more sugar. But maple…
I just feel so betrayed.
I thought DavidsTea was originally from Canada. And as stereotypical as it is, I figured they’d make a better maple tea. Plus Oh Canada is amazing. Like that’s the bar for maple/syrupy teas.
I taste no maple in this. It’s like the name is a lie.
Well I guess I should be happier that I didn’t waste my money on this tea, but still! I had such high hopes.
Now I’m even more skeptical of Snickerdoodle…Guess I could always sell it on here, but it is still sad! :(
Flavors: Apple, Cinnamon, Sugar
Pretty tired mentally since I had to give in and take vicodin an hour ago >< Was doing pretty okay till I could barely breath…(or…breathe…always forget which one it is…).
So not really gonna describe this tea.
I fell in love with it from my first order to H&S at the beginning of the year, then ran out of the sample and bought a tin with my next order.
But didn’t open it till today.
Oh my word.
Totally forgot how amazing this tea is! I have felt like Paris has changed a bit on me….but Tower of London…Ah, even better than I remember it! ^^
Oh! I hope you feel better soon! I hate that pain killers prevent one from being able to function, at least when I’ve had to take them.
Oh your recommendation I’m going to make a cup of this … Haven’t tried it yet!
Ugh, I know what that is like. I was on pain medication for about 3 months this year. Feel better soon. Tea is good. :)
Been trying to sip down a lot of my samples lately. And since this tea was only an ounce I wanted to finish it too. Plus there’s at least three teaspoons that are just crumbs at the bottom of the bag that I probably won’t use…Well maybe…I am not sure.
This tea keeps growing on me more.
I’ve been in a desert tea mood lately, and am half tempted to order this again when i run out.
It’s seriously just like eating a blueberry muffin-but not normal ones. The ones with the crumble stuff on the top. I don’t even know what it is. But now at Starbucks they have blueberry muffins with the crumble on top. Totally looks like mold-but HOLY SHANGHAI you guys!!! It’s freakin’ amazing!
And this tea is basically that.
I almost got one of those at Starbucks yesterday because I had brought this tea in a tumbler with me. If I hadn’t just eaten and wasn’t in danger of getting super nauseous. I would have. But yeah, anyway, sorry for the rant. It’s just a really good tea.
Highly recommend it!!!
And if you don’t like blueberry pastry teas, but like blueberry pastries, get the blueberry muffin from Starbucks! Ignore the fact it totally looks like mold on top…little does everyone know that that’s the best part! XD
Got a sample of this from Mandy. Have wanted to try teas from Capital Tea LTD so badly, and finally I get to! So excited! :D
Mostly it just tastes like a normal black tea, with a slight hint of malt to it. Not anything super special. But as a lover of vanilla teas, I thoroughly enjoyed the cup. ^^
Thank you for the sample, Mandy!
Flavors: Malt, Vanilla
Backlog:
I actually tried this tea a few months ago at my cuz’s house, and quite liked it.
mj sent me a sample in our last swap. It’s very coconut-y,with hints of cocoa. Don’t have any complains about this tea-other than the fact that it has an odd pepper taste to it. It’s very odd. No idea what it could be. But it was there the first time I tried this tea and today. Very strange. Oh well. Thanks so much for a few tea bags of this, mj! :D
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Coconut, Pepper
Almost done with these samples I’ve gotten with other orders. D: Don’t think I noticed the earthiness of this tea so much before, but I actually still like it.
Lots of cocoa notes among the earthiness.
Still really enjoy it. (:
Flavors: Cocoa, Earth
Pretty sure this is from 52Teas since there is no other tea by this name on here. xD Got a sample of this from someone, not sure who. But it doesn’t say which company this tea is from.
Didn’t really smell anything in the bag, but when it began steeping I started to smell a creamy version of genmaicha, which is just kinda weird. But I guess the name fits haha
And Never had flavored genmaicha before!
But there is a first for everything!
As for flavor, not really getting any peaches, but it definitely has a hint of cream in it…
I think I prefer regular genmaicha better-haha!
Well glad I finally tried a flavored one. :P
Bought this tea from Whatshesaid’s stash sale.
Glad I didn’t buy too much of this. xD
It’s just weird.
The chocolate is more subtle and calm, but the rose flavor just seems sharp. And just..eh…not my thing. xD Glad I tried it though!
Flavors: Chocolate, Rose
I’ve only tried this one cold brewed at the store the last two times I’ve gone. Thought it was kinda sour, so wasn’t a huge fan. But got some of this in a swap with Rie T. because I wanted to give it a chance!
Trying this hot now…and MUCH BETTER.
Holy Shanghai. A LOT better!
Ripe mango? Yeah! Not sour at all!
Mmm such a good mango tea.
Something I’m beginning to notice about Lupicia though. A lot of their fruity teas are perfume-y. Haha-it’s really growing on me! This tea has turned into a win in my book! :D ^^
Flavors: Mango, Sweet
So. Was trying this one last night. Took three sips and then my body decided that being in pain all day wasn’t enough so I got super nauseous. >>
This review isn’t gonna be too great…so I’ll have to review it again later. xD
I got a decent amount of this tea in a swap with Rie T. a few weeks ago.
Thought I’d try this one because the combo of vanilla, coconut, and pineapple sounds fantastic!
Not sure I like how Lupicia uses Vanilla though. Because Momoko was supposed to be peach and vanilla and it just tasted kinda off….
Luckily, this tea didn’t have too much vanilla flavor in it. It was more subtle. The pineapple was the strongest in it, which I really liked. Couldn’t taste much coconut either…
But maybe it will be different…when I can actually drink an entire cup….and not just three sips…
Like I said, not really enough for a good review. But I think I will enjoy the rest of the sample, and glad I got to try it! Next time will be better, I am sure!
Flavors: Pineapple, Sweet, Vanilla
Bummer! I’ve been waiting for this one to be in stock so I can order! Now I’m not so sure.
I totally thought it would be like Oh Canada. But didn’t get that at all…so just don’t go in expecting that at least. Some people really like it though!
That’s so sad!
I know! :(
Ha! It finally came back in stock but then FORCED me to order 100g. No matter what I did I couldn’t do 50g. Oh well, I’ll just have to figure out ways to use it if it isn’t good. I could have called them but wanted to order before going to Germany.
