drank Coconut Oolong by Zen Tea
299 tasting notes

OK, now I know what people mean when they say a tea is buttery! I love coconut so I kinda had to buy this tea. (AND cavocorax sent me a sample but I ended up buying my own before it got here.. haha.) But I think if I had waited I wouldn’t have bought this. Not yet, anyway. The smell of oolong (?) is nauseating. :s I really didn’t want to try this tea once smelling it after steeping! I put it down and learned some crochet and forgot about til just now… but it’s better than it smells, for sure! I …actually like it. SURPRISED. But the smell is still turning my stomach, so I don’t know how eager I’ll be to make this again. Holding off rating for now, maybe oolong just isn’t for me? Will have to do a plain one soon to compare (since the long life oolong from David’s Tea also went so horribly wrong for me – although I was WAY more careful about temperature and steep time for this one)…. #adventuresinteatime

I love overusing the word, “buttery”… XD
Oolong does have a “unique” smell. I think I forced myself to appreciate it when I decided to buy a 100g tin of DT’s milk oolong(my first oolong). I think I told myself that the beautiful expanding leaves were worth it but it took a while to grow acclimatized.. :/

I think this was one of my first oolongs, and for whatever reason, it was love at first sip! I didn’t mind the oolongy smell because it reminded me of grassy green teas, but with.. something extra?

Glad you got it down, but if you find you don’t like it after all, I could maybe do a swap with you? (Since I was the one who got you excited about it)

I will also relieve you of some of it if it causes you great distress.. ;)

Bio

I drink a lot of tea (and coffee!) and do other things sometimes, like hug cats (3 black cats!) and homeschool a child (the Snick, Snickety Snickface the Sharkboy) and make art and draw things and watch too much television and pretend I’m not home when people knock on the door!

I LOVE A LOT OF THINGS.

My ratings probably skew high because of this, but I can’t help being optimistic, it is the natural way of things.
