Sipdown! Again, not bad but not my favorite. In other news my BFF is freaking out about how much tea I’m drinking at the moment. She’s worried it’ll keep me awake all night and that I’ll look tired in her wedding pictures tomorrow. She might be right, so I guess its time to make sure I stick to herbal and rooibos for the night.

Sipdown! One of my old faithful favorites. I’m definitely going to be picking more of this up tomorrow, It’s one of the few that I always keep stocked. I’m a pu’erh fan, which is one of the reasons why I love this tea. The pu’erh comes through nice and strong, and I can definitely taste the oolong. The ginger and orange peel make for a nice combination. All in all a nice strong cup of tea, and one of my favorites.

I have a huge amount of this I can send you… at least one tin full of it. Oolongs unfortunately make me feel ill. :(

Yvonne

This is definitely on my wanted list :)

I love how lightly chocolatey this tea is. Seriously, when you smell it you think its going to be super super chocolatey but it isn’t -and I’m actually okay with that. There is a slightly bitter note to this, but bitter in the extremely expensive dark chocolate way. If that makes sense. It is a smooth tea, and (at least to me) tastes just slightly spicy. I’m not a huge fan of of extremely chocolatey teas -I’d rather just have a hot chocolate. But I love this one for just that reason. It doesn’t taste like a poor imitation of hot chocolate, it tastes like a nice tea with a smooth dark chocolate note and slightly (in a good way) bitter undertone.

Oh man. That sounds delicious!

I’m finishing off the last of my stash of this today, and although I like it I’m not sad to see it go. I can definitely taste the rhubarb in this, its nice and tart. I can also taste sweet strawberry and apple in this cup, it balances out the tartness of the rhubarb nicely. Tart with sweet undertones, and it tastes amazing iced. Although I do love this tea, I think I’ve had much too much of it lately. I won’t re-buy it again for a while.

Also, I can say that this was a sipdown since I finished off the last of my stash of this right?

I have this in my sample box… I’ve been looking at it almost everyday and I think I’m going to give it a try soon. :)

Pandeme

You definitely should, its pretty good :)

drank Spiced Winter by Teapigs

I enjoyed this more then I thought I would, although probably not enough to repurchase. The rooibos base is a bit more woody then I was expecting, but it blended well with the cinnamon, clove, and orange spicing. It is a bit sweeter then I was expecting, although not necessarily in a bad way. Overall it was a good, enjoyable cup -and it definitely reminded me of winter. I think I might experiment with this one a little bit, I have a feeling that it would taste really good with some of my creamed cinnamon honey from David’s Tea.

This blend sounds absolutely wonderful.

Pandeme

It is! I definitely recommend trying it if you get a chance :)

Yvonne

I can’t afford ordering anything at the moment – jobless, too mentally and physically unwell at the moment to find work, and broke. :P But as soon as I get myself better and get income again, you better believe I’ll be ordering up some. :)

Pandeme

I can send some to you if you want? :) I have a nice little sample size of this one and a few of their other teas that I wouldn’t mind sending your way. PM me if you want the samples :)

Yvonne

Aww, that would be absolutely wonderful! I’ll send you a PM :) Thank you so, so much!

Pandeme

No problem!! :D

Yvonne

It won’t seem to let me send you a PM – I think we both need to be following eachother. :)

Pandeme

Oops! There, you should be able to now :)

Yvonne

Wonderful! You’re such a doll :) Thanks again!

This is definitely one of my favorites from David’s Tea, and today I decided to try it as a latte. And I am so glad I did. Basically it tasted like heaven in a cup. No joke. If you haven’t tried this as a latte yet then you are seriously missing out. (At least in my opinion)

VariaTEA

I love this blend. So good. Although I have not tried it as a latte. Alas, I am all out of it :(

Kamyria

hmmm… this sounds really interesting…

drank Coffee Cake by DAVIDsTEA

This definitely wasn’t what I was imagining or craving when I decided to make this tonight. There is definitely cake in this cup, but I don’t really taste much of a coffee flavor. Is it possible for tea to taste greasy? If so, then this definitely tasted greasy to me. This one also tasted a lot like their Red Velvet Cake to me, and I wasn’t a huge fan of that one either.

I guess that means that my search for the perfect coffee cake flavored tea continues. Not that I mind having another excuse to go out and buy more tea ;)

This smells exactly like Red Velvet Cake to me. I actually like Red Velvet Cake so I was excited by this blend but it has a strange taste. Also, I don’t know if teas can “taste” greasy but they definitely can be greasy/oily. I have had a tea that I actually brushed my teeth and used mouth wash right after trying because it felt like my mouth was coated in grease (sorry, I just realized how incredibly disgusting that is).

Brendan

Coffee cakes don’t taste like coffee. This is just a cake flavored tea.

Yes, teas can have that greasy feeling to them. This is probably from the “natural and artificial cake flavouring” that is included in it.

Pandeme

VariaTEA, That is definitely how this tea felt to me. I did finish drinking it, but I had to rinse my mouth with mouthwash afterwards. (And no worries! It actually didn’t sound that disgusting to me… maybe I should be concerned that it didn;t? lol)

Brendan, Really? I’ve only ever had homemade coffee cake but it definitely tastes like coffee, I guess it must just be the recipe my family uses :) And that makes sense, I’m glad its not just in my head lol.

Brendan

Pandeme – I want your recipe :)

Pandeme

Brendan, Definitely! I’ll get it the next time I’m at home and send it to you. You might need to remind me though lol.

Its only 11:30am and I’ve already had four cups of this. It might be time to slow it down with this one, but since I’m Maid of Honor at my BFF’s wedding this weekend I really can’t afford to be sick right now. So I guess I will continue to drink this like it is water (just joking…mostly) and try any and all home cold remedies that google can provide me with. Wish me luck! I think I’m going to need it.

Oh yay winter weddings!

Pandeme

:D I’m super excited about it! She’s having it on the mountain – so it should be fun!

About Me
Hi! I’m a 24 year old University student that loves tea -obviously! I also love to read, I’m an English major so I guess that is a given. I may also be a bit of a shopaholic, but hey there are worse addictions right?

Tea
Growing up I hated tea, but when I turned 16 I went on a trip to Japan and fell in love with Green Tea -basically any type of green tea that I could get my hands on. For the following 7 years I stuck exclusively to straight green tea.

Then when I turned 23 a friend of mine got a job at David’s Tea and started pestering me to branch out and try some of their teas. And I am so glad I did! for the next year I tried (and bought) basically every tea David’s had to offer.

Then a couple weeks ago I stumbled across Steepster when I was search for recommendations on other tea brands to try. In the short time I’ve been on steepster I’ve been introduced to some amazing teas from brands all over the world, and some equally amazing people!

Tea Ratings

1 to 40 – I won’t even bother trying to drink this, I’ll just dump it out.

41 to 65 – I don’t like this. I’ll finish the cup because I don’t want to waste it, but I’ll probably be cringing while doing so. And I definitely won’t be repurchasing.

66 to 80 – I like this, I’ll recommend it to people, and at some point I’ll probably repurchase it.

81 to 100 – I am in love with this. Seriously, I’ll be repurchasing this before I’m even halfway through my current stash of it. In fact I love it so much I’ll probably force feed it to you until you love it as much as I do.
