Very dark—almost like coffee in appearance and aroma. Added warm milk and honey. Flavorful and different.

Cardamom pods, whole cloves, and cinnamon bits mingle with gnarly black twisted leaves. Simmered entire sampler package in 1 cup milk for 7 minutes; sweetened with a bit of honey. Smooth, creamy, rich, lightly spicy—in a word, delicious!

Jackee is really smokin’ today! I’ve not been a fan of a lot of smokey teas before, but the smoke here is not overpowering—and I’ve upgraded my rating!

I smell cream soda upon opening the package—lovely scent! The tea starts out pleasantly enough, but there is an unappealing aftertaste. The 2nd infusion was better, but I don’t think that I really jasmine tea girl, as I’ve yet to find one I like.

I really tried to find the ginger in this tea—it just tastes like an average white tea to me. Maybe a bit of a gingery aftertaste in this, my 2nd infusion, if I focus. I like ginger alot, and I was looking forward to trying this sample. Oh, well—

The dry Sencha, toasted rice and corn are powdered with Matcha and have a vegetal/grainy aroma. The lime-green infusion has the toasty aroma and flavor of grains, a bit sweeter in taste, less vegetal than some greens. More brothy in subsequent infusions; the Matcha diminishes, of course, but the remaining Sencha remains smooth and tasty. A keeper!
Prepared with my Samovar oolong pot, multi-steeps. Lovely aroma throughout, buttery, bakey, creamy flavors—all as advertised. Delicious, calming, mellow, soothing, fragrant, the adjectives keep coming with each steep.
Meh. I was expecting more, but tasted less. Dry leaves are very small, bright green slivers, like cut grass, with a mild vegetal aroma. Infusion tasted a bit like cooked asparagus, but really not much flavor. Did not hold up well with subsequent infusions.
I will admit that I was a little nervous to try this tea—the sample smelled interesting, very smokey but in a good way, I think. The infusion still was smokey, but my first sip was sweet! Subsequent sips were “meaty” but as the tea cooled, the smokiness started to really take over in an unpleasant way. I steeped a second cup just to be sure, but I don’t think this tea is for me.

Lovely rose scent upon opening the sample package. Scent a bit lighter in the infusion, but still a fresh rose scent with a citrus undernote (!). Tea has a tartness with a sweet finish. 2nd infusion—much lighter in aroma and flavor. Not a tea I would seek out but an interesting one to try. There is an elegance to this tea—you may want to wear a hat and gloves to partake!

The infusion had a lovely honeyed aroma—I was intrigued. My first sip had a mild, not unpleasant astringency, but, unfortunately, the astringency grew to cheek-sucking strength as the tea cooled. Not a bad tea with food, but not a tea to drink on its own.

Beautiful deep amber with golden lights. Flavor is very clean and smooth, but essentially just a nice tea—not remarkable, but nice.
