Caramel Mate was one of my first loose teas. It really was the bridge from “Tea Dust” in a bag to the real deal. So I might be a bit biased with this lovely tea.
First of all, the tea came out to a lovely liquor brown. It smells of roasted leaves ( as it should be, it IS a roasted Mate) and a hint of sweetness from the caramel. It’s a nice combination and neither scent overpowers the other.
Unfortunately, I don’t taste the caramel. All I can pick up is the roasted Mate. It’s a pleasant and mild in taste and surprisingly it tastes better without the Carmel.I give this tea a 4.5/5 because though it’s fantastic, the name lie’s about it’s true flavor.
