6 Tasting Notes

Marco Polo from Mariage Frères
100

Pretty darn awesome! This one’s difficult to get around here, but the warm mellow flavour compliments my habit of putting milk in everything and is a special treat when I visit my mother in law.

Prince of Wales from Twinings
100

When steeped properly, the almost nutty taste is really pleasing to my pallet. Good with a spot of milk, still very good even if you forget it and over brew. This is my go-to tea when I want uncomplicated reliability in a ready to steep sachet.

North African Mint (organic) from DAVIDsTEA
1

Tastes like minty backwash. The bitterness of the licorice does not combine well with the slight tastebud numbing effect of the mint, creating a substance invoking a good quality mint hand soap

Christmas Morning from Stash Tea Company
34

A bland, unimpressive blend that tastes like no-name brand orange pekoe. It’s not offensive, but it’s not worth the premium box price. Why they decided this was a good symbol of Christmas is beyond me- it doesn’t even have anything special in its flavour.

Vanilla Black Tea from Twinings
75

An extremely nice blend of black tea and vanilla. Not as strong a kick as their english breakfast tea, which makes it a favourite. Pity only some grocery stores carry it!

English Breakfast from Twinings

The tea steeps quickly for a strong flavour. It can be a very intense kick in the morning and is best cut with milk.
