9 Tasting Notes

Silver Needle from California Tea House
97

I know I shouldn’t have caffeine tea this late, but I couldn’t help myself. I had one of these guy’s blooming teas lately at a friend’s party and so I had to try the straight up Silver Needle. It’s divine. A very mild sweetness that you can’t get enough of. I’ll stay up late for this.

Golden Monkey Paw from California Tea House
99

I’ve been drinking Rooibos only lately, but I guess it was time for a change as the weather got a little cooler and my mood changed with it. I have to say, “I’m glad I did!” This tea makes a delicious cup – very full and a very slightly malty aftertaste that makes me always feel like I need another cup.

Tie Guan Yin Competition Grade "Monkey Picked" Oolong from Chicago Tea Garden
84

There are a hanful of ‘iron Goddess’ Oolong’s out there, all of which are good teas. It’s almost hard to go wrong. This one is somewhere in the middle of the ones I’ve tried.

Jasmine Pearls from California Tea House
96

Just the right tea for me today. The taste is just as good as it smells.

Choco*Late from American Tea Room
68

I don’t know why I pay a lot of money for chocolate milk these days. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but it’s glorified chocolate milk. I’m going to stick to my Oolongs for awhile.

White Peony from California Tea House
100

Such a simple, smooth and slightly sweet tea. I’m on 5 days in a row with this Peony.

Da Hong Pao from Harney & Sons
81

I’m about half way through my Harney’s. It’s a good solid Oolong. The first steep is always a bit nutty for me, but the second is really good.

Chocolate Malt from 52teas
80

I feel guilty drinking this! Very tasty.
I started to add milk thinking it might be even more like a chocolate shake, and then I realized, it would be a chocolate shake.

An Xi Tie Guan Yin traditional charcoal roast from Life In Teacup
78

Earthy and toasty. A nice breakfast tea for me. The 2nd steep was a little smoother and better than the first.
