1113 Tasting Notes

I am going to review this tea as The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf company sells it as in a package with their vanilla hot chocolate mix.
I hosted a tea latte party with 8 friends and used this tea and the white hot chocolate mixture in a french press and it was a stunner. Sure it may have a lot of sugar and all, but it taste fantastic and I will probably buy more again when the winter comes back around.

As I prepare for all 7 of the deadly sins to attack my holy temple of taste buds, I remind myself that I have committed to re-steeping this tea six times to experience the difference between steeps with pu-erh tea.
I am not a fan of pu-erh at all, but this tea has milder version of stomped on hay from some random barn. I’m really hoping that the next few batches will lose that taste and smell and give me something I can describe as tea. As of now I understand the shameful feeling that comes with cheating… sorry my dear oolong, I’m just ‘experimenting’ right now.
Here’s to hopes that steep two may turn out better!
^
That was the first steep at 4minutes and no wash because I had no clue what I was doing…
The steeps after that were 20 seconds each. This brews very smooth and I can actually identify an earthy taste mixed with honey and I really enjoy it. I look forward to my new adventures with pu-erh. This tea is quality from the way the leaf is pressed and unravels over steeps to the beautiful honey taste that accents the earthyness quite well. This will forever be the tea that I ruined at first but made me realize I have have been brewing pu-erh wrong for quite some time.

drank Mango Green by Ten Ren

Surprising taste as the mango is semi sweet but the green tea contributes a bitter taste to the liquid. I ended up mixing this with a lighter green tea that I bought from them to make it more drinkable, but I don’t even know what that tea was because the sticker they put on it has no English and I told the lady to just give me what she likes. This tea alone was not something I would want to drink again though.

Dear Brenda,
If we ever cross paths I would like an explanation of how this is your favorite. I’ll admit that it taste decent, but as far as ‘premium oolong’ as the package says it does not measure up to what I would say is premium. As for the hazelnut, I don’t think I was able to pick up it’s flavor in this tea- however, Anna tea shop has only been amazing so I will give you a try again in the future.

Who puts pineapple, mango, and papaya in a gingersnap cookie tea?
That’s what I questioned but I still bought it… GREAT CHOICE!
This is a wonderful blend of nuts, fruit, and rooibos to create a warm toasty nut flavored tea that is very comforting. The smell of walnuts and rooibos are the two stronger scents from what I picked up and that aroma added great pleasure to just smell before I drank it. The ratio of this tea is wonderful as well as there is not a a large amount of rooibos to take away from all the other flavors that brew out of this tea. If you want more spice add some of their Gingerbread House tea and you will be one happy person :)

This tea makes me hungry… the smell is absolutely wonderful, stick rice indeed!
The first steep is bit strong, but this can be brewed quite a few times. I really like when the tea is somewhat milder and the rice taste/smell blends in with it to make a wonderful cup of tea that makes your senses a little annoyed as you smell food but drink liquid. As for taste its quite good. The green tea may be somewhat strong but that is what is to be expected from a green pu erh.

drank Guayusa by Runa

My mind doesn’t comprehend how others found a sweetness to this tea. When I drank this, which I finished all 2.5oz in the can I bought, I found myself drinking a strong and bitter cup of tea that reminded me of why I really like oolong and green teas. This just lacks flavor overall, but it does provide a nice feeling as far as drinking as a morning tea. I understand its unflavored and that’s what I wanted but now I know that guayusa should be masked with some sort of undertone just like mediocre mate should.

Let’s imagine I wanted to taste sand… this would be an excellent way to spend $12 to do so!

This green tea blend with cherry blossom was very aromatic!
The taste wasn’t too strong but it was on the stronger side which was nice because I wanted the cherry blossom taste but in way that doesn’t overpower the green tea (which this does not)
All to say, this was quite delicious.

Repelling smell but there is a taste that compels me to drink over and over.
This brews a cup of tea that pours onto my taste buds like a work of art and I like art being formed on or out of my taste buds.
