181 Tasting Notes
Nicely balanced fruity overlay with a black base beneath. I think my tastebuds are on strike since I didn’t appreciate this one at all and I’m usually really into fruity black teas.
I’m going to take a few days off of drinking tea and see if everything comes back into alignment. For now, though, this one was decent (and I think it’s a good tea) even though it’s not working for me.
Preparation
As the other reviewers have said, this one is really just Red Hots in a cup. There’s no subtlety here, no base tea lingering at the end or complex flavour notes…it’s simply a profoundly cinnamon tea, and a well done one at that.
With that said, I would’ve preferred a little more complexity, so for me this is a good tea…but not one I would choose to drink again.
Preparation
Spicy coco wheats. That’s honestly my first impression of this tea…it’s not bad, but it really does taste just like it. There’s a solid cocoa backdrop with upper notes of cinnamon and some other spice that I can’t quite put my finger on.
It’s tasty, though, and I like it…but coco wheats and I have an unpleasant history, so I’m not likely to drink it willingly in the future.
Preparation
First steep I think I overleafed (even though I followed pkg directions of 2tsp/8oz)…it just came out bitter and unpleasant even though it smelled amazing and I loved it in the bag. I’ll have to wait and have another try at it later as my tea mojo is busted tonight.
Preparation
Sorry to hear your tea came out bitter. Do you use kitchen spoons or measuring spoons to measure tea?
Not sure why, but this cup just didn’t hit any of the right notes for me – the base teas seemed discordant and ill-suited to one another and the only flavouring I picked up was a hint of pineapple-ish fruityness that I didn’t find all that palatable.
Not my thing, I guess.
Preparation
I’ve really enjoyed coconut green teas in the past and this one is pretty tasty as well. I’m surprised by how smooth and polite the green tea is – it sits nicely in the background and exists solely to provide a comfortable base for the oily, savoury coconut notes.
If you’re really interested in your green teas tasting grassy and vegetal and green then this may not be the tea for you…but if you just want a coconut cup of deliciousness that’ll linger in your mouth long after each sip, well, this one is perfect.
Tasty, wonderful and I’d happily drink it again.
Preparation
I got my hopes up reading the description of this one, but I’m afraid it really just comes across as a solid black tea with some orange highlights. I wish I could taste the marshmallow and chocolate, but it’s really only the orange…I guess the other two friends are sorta shy.
As many of the black tea blends I’ve had go, this one is pretty tasty in terms of the base, but falls a little flat on the flavouring. Not bad, but not my favourite one…kinda meh, overall.
Preparation
I think my sample might’ve just been a little badly scooped – I didn’t see any marshmallow in it – but yeah, still disappointed.
I think the marshmallow is flavoring, not actual marshmallows in the mix. I don’t remember ever seeing any in this tea. For me the marshmallow comes out as a cream that rounds out the sharpness of the orange that I find in other choco/orange teas. There are chocolate chips in this tho, so if it was badly scooped it would explain the lack of chocolate. Bummer it wasn’t what you were hoping for.
I wish that I had something witty to say about this tea…but it really just tastes like walnuts (and that’s rather delightful).
You can kinda taste the green base, but it seems as though it’s mainly there just to bump up the deliciousness and savoury goodness that is toasted walnut. I’m not entirely sure why I like this tea so much, but something about it just makes my tastebuds all kinds of happy.
I’m slightly undecided on whether I would order it myself, but it’s an enjoyable cup.
Preparation
I think I need to try more tea with nuts in it. I have one that has almonds in it, but the almond does’t provide much and it seems overwhelmed by the other flavors. Walnuts, on the other hand, I think would provide great flavor to a tea. hmmm….
This is a very odd tea.
In the bag it definitely smelled like caramel and popcorn, but somehow a bit of the flavours got lost in translation once the hot water got involved. Post-brew it tastes a bit like burnt caramel with light soapy notes.
It’s not a tea that’s fun to drink, honestly. I could probably stomach the whole cup if I had to, but since I drink tea for fun this one will be going down the drain.
Preparation
I’m generally a fan of toffee flavoured teas and flavoured whites…but this one falls just a little flat. I think toffee goes better with dark teas, personally, so I came into this a little prejudiced.
With that said, this has these delightful caramel notes that linger after each drink. The white base is mellow and smooth, but I find myself hoping for a little more of something in terms of flavour.
It’s not a bad tea, but just not something that I’m excited about.
