Amazing rhubarb and slightly creamy aroma from the infusing tisane. Quite tart with a soft edge. Tartness reminds me of hibiscus but bearable. Banana note.

drank Bamboo-Pomelo by TeaGschwendner

Brewed for 10 minutes.

Amazing balance of flavour. The lemongrass is not at all over-powering (just a bit of a flatness in the aftertaste)- the bamboo flavour is able to come through well. Sweetness in the background. There’s some kind of fruity body to this- like I can imagine biting into a fresh pomello. No off-flavouring.

Thanks to Sil for sharing!

In the brewed tea aroma: molasses, cocoa

Tea has a strong white tea swampy taste to it. Molasses-honey sweetness in the background with a slight bitter cocoa edge.

Second infusion at boiling for 4 minutes. The cocoa flavour really comes out!

Third infusion at boiling for ~6 minutes. Cocoa-y, slightly creamy and delicious.

Quite bitter. Pretty good mouthfeel. The sweetness of the jasmine is hidden by the bitterness of the brew. Maybe I should try to infuse at a lower temperature next time

Infused for 8 minutes but I have been advised to try a longer infusion for next time (10 to 20 minutes). I used 1.5 tbsp for 375 ml.

Brewed infusion smells like dark hot chocolate. Flavour is quite dilute but I think the longer infusion time will give a better representation of the actual flavour.

Thanks Sil for sharing with me!

ohfancythat

I’ve actually left it for half an hour….sooooooooo good ;)

OMGsrsly

Also, gently simmering it on the stove in some sort of milk, then straining it into a mug. Just don’t use paper, as the fine bits of chocolate will clog it!

Brewed tea smells strongly of chestnut. Mouthfeel is very thick. Hint of sweetness which complements the profile well. Mild roasted chestnut flavour. A bit of a bitter flat note near the end of the sip. The spinachy flavour that I normally associate with Long Jing is subdued and mixes with the nutty chestnut very nicely. Aftertaste is refreshing and sweet.

Brewing aroma reminds me of bubble gum.

Flavour is sweet, refreshing and fruity. The white tea taste is blended well with the other flavours. A bit of ginger spicy-ness present. Overall, quite bland but pleasant flavour experience. There is a bit of bubblegum taste at the end of the sip. This would not be a tea that I would seek out but I feel that it has been well put together.

Thin mouthfeel. I am not quite a fan of this mix of spices but I’m assuming it is similar to what an eggnog spice mix would taste like. If I had to choose an eggnog tea, I would definitely go with Creamy Eggnog by Butiki Teas. I am certainly glad that I got a chance to try it!
