1.5 tablespoons for 375 ml of water

Milky floral oolong aroma in the brewed tea scent. Hints of soft vanilla sweetness and orange-y citrus; reminding me of orange creamsicle.

Creamy vanilla pudding flavour. Very mild citrus. Grapefruit astringency close to the end of the sip mixed with floral hints. Mouth-feel is a little thin for the flavour

Second infusion at 4 minutes. Muted creaminess. Citrus-y flavour comes through more. The grapefruit note is toned down but still present near the end of the sip into the aftertaste. Vanilla-like sweetness present but not as strong as in the first infusion.

Many thanks to Sil for sharing this with me!

Lol I’m thinking maybe I need to give this one a second chance since you guys all seem to love it. Glad you enjoyed it though :)

Raritea

I encourage it! But it is an oolong… ;)

Indigobloom

I’m not a big fan actually, even though it is an oolong!

drank Apple & Fig Crumble by Tea Blendz
836 tasting notes

1.5 tablespoon for 375 ml of water.

The spice is the overwhelming note in both the flavour and aroma.

Hint of smooth authentic apple flavour in the background. Fig flavour present in the background especially near the end of the sip which is accentuated into the aftertaste. Fruity tartness nicely compliments the flavour profile. Slightest hint of astringency, bordering bitter, from the tea base.

As I’m drinking this tea, I’m finding the spices to be quite overpowering.

I don’t think I’ll like this one for some reason. I can’t remember that reason right now…. (I only took 1 cup of it for that reason though).

Sil

this was one of the “free” teas that i got. it’s very figgy… not enough apple-y was thinking about mixing it with anyother tea maybe.

drank Blueberry Zabaglione by 52teas
836 tasting notes

1 tablespoon for 375 ml of water

The brewed tea aroma is a nice mixture of a smooth black tea and baked-goods blueberry.

Sourness in the flavour. Authentic but dilute blueberry taste. Very nice black tea compliment in the background. I’ve never had zabaglione so I can’t comment as to how well this tea captures the flavour.

A creaminess creeps into the flavour as the tea cools.

Will infuse this one for only 2-2.5 minutes in the future.

1.25 tablespoons for 375 ml of water

Dry leaf has a very artificial chocolate aroma.

Brewed tea has a primary chocolate aroma with only a bit of an artificial edge to it. There’s a definite underlying creaminess. Black tea aroma hints in the background.

Strong earthy taste. Artificial soapy-like chocolate flavour. Very faint black tea taste in the background.

Thanks Sil for sharing this with me!

Boiling 3 min, 45 sec

like i forewarned…not crazy about the chocolate in DT’s teas. much prefer their other ones like oatmeal cookie, pumpkin pie, lemon chiffon etc…

Raritea

I totally get what you are saying now! I’m surprised that I had such a strong aversion to it though.

Sil

i think you’ll like the grandma’s pumpkin pie better. it’s got some decent spices in it….one of my more liked pumpkin blends so far

Indigobloom

oh dear. I have a feeling I’ll follow suit. Hey, one less tea for purchase! :)

Kittenna

I liked Dubbele Chocolade better than Double Chocolate Decadence. But I have only drank each of those once…

drank Coconut Oolong by Tsaa
836 tasting notes

1.5 tablespoons for 375 ml of water

The aroma of the brewed tea is incredible. The primary scent is that of a creamy and very authentic coconut. There is a floral note in the background.

The beginning of the sip is a little bland but has coconut water undertone. Flavour blooms into full coconut near the middle of the sip. Amazingly authentic coconut flavour. I’m getting a mild creaminess near the end of the sip. The oolong taste is apparent in the background. The oolong and coconut flavours compliment each other very well and meld together the most near the end of the sip. I’m tasting a hint of the grapefuity taste I tend to associate with oolongs on the exhale of the aftertaste.

Second infusion at 3.5 minutes. The sweetness is subdued but the coconut flavour is still very present. Still getting a good coconut milk flavour. Slight tangy-ness. The oolong taste is able to come through more. The oolon is mildly floral and has a flat blandness to it that reminds me of a waxy taste. Still a pleasing experience.

Third infusion at 4.25 minutes. Slight creaminess still present. Coconut water flavour present.

Fourth infusion at 4.75 minutes is quite bland and flavourless. Very watery.

Thanks Indigobloom for sharing this tea purchase with me!

1 tablespoon used for 375 ml of water

Thin and dilute-tasting. Caramel-like light sweetness. Spices in the background accentuated at the end of the sip.

May benefit from a longer infusion time as well as agitating tea while brewing to better dissolve marshmallow pieces.

Preparation
Boiling 4 min, 15 sec
Kittenna

Yes, I bob my infuser up and down with most teas now :D Really helps dissolve the marshmallows in this one!

drank Tangerine Spice by Kally Tea
836 tasting notes

1.5 tablespoons for 375ml of water

The tangerine citrus flavour seems artificial and perfume-y. The spice flavour is quite mild. The citrus and the spice do not seem to compliment each other very well. The white tea flavour is present.

Thanks to Indigbloom and Sil for passing some of this on to me!

drank Toffee Dream by Zen Tea
836 tasting notes

1.5 tablespoons for 375ml of water

Hazelnut aroma from brewed tea.

Coconut/nutty-like flavour on the sip. Mild nutty sweetness. Crisp celery flavour note which seems to come out of the nutty-ness. White tea taste compliments the flavour profile very well.

Yeah not crazy about this one. Found a better version that I can share with you, if you remind me. Thankfully I’m not impressed with this one after the kerfuful with zen tea. I’d hate to be dying for a tea i won’t order heh

I used 1.5 tablespoons for 375 ml of water.

Thin flavour. Waxy-tasting. Mild apricot-brandy flavour in the background. Buttery flavour in the aftertaste.

As the tisane cools, I’m detecting a little bit of cake-yness in the taste
