My acupuncturist told me I could stop drinking mint tea if I became a monk and lived in a state of constant meditation. That ain’t happening any time soon so for now I drink Refresh. This tea is delish. I drink 2-3 cups of this a day. It always makes me feel calm and balanced. It also sooths my stomach on days after tequila shots (like today!). Just be careful not to let it steep too long (2 minutes tops) and don’t ringout the bag into your cup. It’s super bitter for some reason.

My ex-boyfriend got me a box of this when we were in Kauai for Christmas. Two days later I found out he was cheating on me (thanks Facebook!). Regardless of its flavor, you would think this tea would taste bitter after all that. But it still tastes sweet as ever. I love this stuff! As usual, I’m drinking it with honey. Relationships come and go but tea is forever.

This was in my company’s kitchen this morning so I’m giving it a shot. Smells great and tastes pretty good for a paper bagged tea. I’ve added lots of honey. Ingredient list is green tea, lemongrass, “natural flavors” (?), rose petals and peppermint. Why does it also contain soy lecithin? Need to keep an eye on this ingredient in other teas.

I think that it is to preserve the tea giving it a longer shelf life. Besides that it does not make scenes to me too.

Soy lecithin, in this case, is most likely being used as an emulsifier – that is, an ingredient that helps keep things that naturally separate together. My best bet is that the oils in the lemongrass rise to the surface of the tea and make the flavor bitter, and the soy lecithin is being used to keep it all together.

I drink this loose leaf tea at home in the South. Makes a great iced green tea and a nice alternative when suffering from a sweet tea overdose. PLUS it comes from the only tea plantation in the United States. I didn’t know until recently that you can purchase it online. Now I don’t have with(Southern)drawal.
