2967 Tasting Notes
Ahh, Friday. Its been a very busy week, compounded by the fact that I have been ill. I’m doing ever so much better, though, which is fabulous.
I’ve not been drinking anything that I like too well. My tasting has been compromised by a stuffed up head, so a lot has been drunk just to keep something warm in me.
I managed to drink up the last of this while at work, and I’m very pleased with that sipdown. Yay!
Ugh, now I’m all stuffed up and unpleasant. Ugh.
So nothing too flavorful, nothing I like too much. This fits the bill of being warm, soothing, and a bit vanilla-y. Nice on the throat and not too taxing on the nose.
There was a time in the not so distant past when getting sample sachets with orders was a mixed blessing. On one hand, I love me some free tea. On the other, I was drinking bagged teas less and less. But now with the new job I can move into the solidly delighted camp.
I had this after lunch, and it was rich and oak-y, and didn’t require too much focus as I drank it. Good stuff!
Once again we play “you’re pulling my leg, this is an Earl Grey?”, with myself being the sole contestant.
I cannot find it. Where is the bergamot? His Lordship is unrecognizable with this much lavender in him. He’s turned bolder, darker, and altogether not like himself at all.
I mean, I kinda like him like this, but he just does not seem like the Earls I have known.
Time to cut the caffine for the day. And, as this cough still lingers, I wanted something nice and soothing.
Ahh, Silent Night. What a lovely mint blend.
I made a great cough remedy tea the other day. Really soothing on the hroat. Bring to a boil 4 cups water with a sliced lemon, cinnamon stick and sliced ginger. Then let cool. Add honey to sweeten. Worked really well. Hope you feel better soon.
This was sipped down on Monday.
Its a nice mint black blend. Not my favorite by a long shot, but it was enjoyable while I had it.
This is one of those enjoyable yet slightly forgettable blends. I might bring it back some time, but its not critical. I’ve got other teas to tide me over until it wanders my way again.
And heaven knows I need a sipdown with all the new teas I’ve got!
My morning yoga class was with the gentle yoga instructor, which was lovely, as I’m still recovering from whatever bugs I had.
So this afternoon I’m organizing things in my house, and drinking teas!
This is one of the teas that my Aunt and Uncle gave me for my birthday, and also some English Digestive buiscuts, which I love. I haven’t had them since I lived in the UK, so that was a delight.
This is an interesting blend. Very layered, with a very bold flavor to it. Its quite strong.
I feel like I’m going to have to fiddle with the steep time, but I’m enjoying it!
I’ve got a lot more teas to add to my cupboard from my birthday haul, but I got the teas I ordered for myself as a present. I am now drowning in teas, and its glorious!
I hate that you can’t buy Tower of London in any loose leaf size except a pound. But for my birthday I decided to buy it for myself, especially as my sister gave me a gorgeous silver tea tin big enough to hold a pound of tea.
Ahh, hello old friend. Your fruity, honey touched flavor has been gone from my house for too long. I am glad to have you here.
This reminds me to sort out my sick teas in anticipation of the plague. Hope you are feeling better. Ginger is always such a comfort.
I need to add some ginger tea to my drawer. I like peppermint, but ginger would be good to have too. Hope you feel better soon.
