Is it cold yet? Weather report says 95, so no. Grrr.
This weekend I went with some friends to see HMS Pinafore, which I’d never seen before, and is deeply silly, and Mr. Holmes, which was a really good movie.
Makes Monday all the harder, after such a fun weekend. Boo, Monday!
But so far its been pretty productive, and I always enjoy the first pot of tea of the week.
I’m really going to miss this blend when its gone, as, alas, it is no more. Its a wonderful winter tea. Perhaps I should pause in drinking it until its cold again?

I am working my way through my stash of this, and am always hopeful that its going to be better than it is.
My hopes are now, as I move to the bottom of the tin, that I’ll get more tea, and a bit less flotsam and jetsam. I love additions to tea, and like floral, but this is just too much. Too many addtions! And they don’t seem to be helping. Frustrating.

First cup of the day.
I can never quite make up my mind on this one. Sometimes it brews up to something exceedingly pleasant, with a fruit pastry quality, and sometimes it seems flat.
Today, I’m pleased to say, it was pleasant! A good start to the day.

I got to sleep in a bit today, which was glorious, and I had a leisurely breakfast, a pot of tea and raspberries with a bit of vanilla infused sugar dusted over top.
Ha. Delicious and relaxing.
With my air conditioner fixed I am in the seventh heaven, and happier than a clam. Bring on the tea!

My air conditioner is fixed! Oh thank goodness, there was a while there I was convinced death was upon me.
So, tea!
Today this was distinctly like a floral earl grey. Not bad, but it didn’t leave much on an impression on me. Ah well.

Maddy Barone

Holy crap I think I would literally DIE without A/C. Glad yours is up and running again.

Fjellrev

Yay, glad it’s fixed now!

Oh blargh. Its 105 today and last night the control panel for my air conditioning unit broke. This is a tragedy of almost Greek proportions.
It also means I slept terribly and spent the morning roaming around my house making little keening noises, while trying to drink a mug of tea.
It was almost unbearable, and the thought of a cup of tea this evening is impossible.
I hate summer. I hate it so much. I am having my revenge by drinking “winter” teas, trying to force some sort of cosmic being to change the season for me. Blargh!
I’ve gotta fix the AC, so I can properly enjoy tea. I want to enjoy the tasty layers of fruit and pastry! I wanna have a pot of tea without sweating! Aaaah!

Nichole/CuppaGeek

That is a tragedy of almost Greek proportions. There is nothing worse than drinking a hot pot of tea while you are sweating. This summer I thought it would be fun to drink a pot of tea while I watched the boys play outside. Such a bad idea. I ended up being a bigger sweaty mess than they were.

I confess that when we had a particularly hot and humid summer a few years ago, I turned the a/c as cold as I dared financially, took a cold shower, and made a pot of tea. We have been in the 90’s but today we have a one day respite with a high in the 80’s because it is overcast.

TeaBrat

I have no A/C/ either. When it gets hot I have a fan. I don’t recall it getting above 95 in San Francisco since I’ve been here though.

Rosehips

Ah, theres the rub! I’m in Central California, where its about 102 today. Bleh.

A sipdown! Thank you, Morning Light, for being a bold tea to start off busy mornings.
The almost malty quality and the interesting hint of pine made this a unique experience, and I’m glad to have tried it!

TeaBrat

I liked this one too

Good morning Steepster!
I’ve got my late start today, which is lovely, and so I can really sit and enjoy a pot of tea.
I am doing my best to force fall to happen, by drinking my autumnal teas and optimistically laying out sweaters. Its not working, as its still August, but I can dream!
I feel that this tea is so, so much a part of autumn. It just tastes like sweaters and crisp mornings and cool weather lovliness. Bring on the autumn!

Teatotaler

I know exactly how you feel. About this time every year my yearning for autumn really kicks in. Just yesterday I was going through my autumn jackets. Hang in there, The Queen of Seasons will soon be upon us!

How did you know what we’ve been talking about at our house? (C’mon, October!)

Ah, refreshing.
Its been a long week already, and its only Tuesday. Gah.
I really, really like this. Its so creamy! So minty! So delicate and lovely! I am greedily hording the last of this, and will be enthusiastically buying more when the winter comes around!

Just enough of this to make a final pot. Hurrah!
I’ve enjoyed this. Its a citrus and black tea blend, which I am usually all for. This one was a little bit bitter, but not in an unpleasant way- in a bitter citrus kind of way.
It was enjoyable, and the tin is one of the specially designed ones, so its super pretty.
But its a sipdown! Hurrah!
I’m gonna make my sipdown goals, to be sure!

I love tea! I confess that I was a hot chocolate lover for most of my life, but recently a switch has gone off in my brain, and suggested that I might just love tea. And I do!
I’m a bit of a novice, but an enthusiastic one, and am happily sipping new varieties all the time.
I love vanilla, fruity, and caramel flavors, and cant wait to try more.
