2967 Tasting Notes
A cup of this as my morning brew has shed light on a few things. One, I am going to be a touch more delicate in my next steeping. The bergamot, vanilla and lavender were all there today, but the lavender was a bit overpowering. I shall try it a minute less, and see if that gives the flavors a better balance.
But even with a bit too much lavender, its still a good blend!
I have so much of this (bought in an early December whirl of enthusiasm) that I’ve decided to bring some along with me to be my work morning tea.
It shall do well here. And I have enough at home to handle any peppermint black tea cravings at every location where I have access to hot water and tea cups.
Well, goodness. I just hit fatigue on this tea yesterday, and today was my last cup! I somehow thought I had more of it.
Final thoughts- too strong for me, but not bad in and of its own right. I am glad this is a sipdown, and will not bring this particular specimen back.
This cup was particularly rosy today, much more so than the mint.
I still think its a very interesting combination, but I feel like there is an element missing. What? I am not sure. But I feel a third note might harmonize the whole blend a little bit more.
Hmmm.
Let this cup mark the point where I officially grew tired of this blend.
Its not dreadful, but its so strong that it can be tricky to deal with. Not a repeat performance, I think.
I am fully ready to have this all sipped down, but I have a few more cups worth.
Well, I shall try and finish it this week, and will feel very accomplished.
I’ve been feeling the sweet teas all this weekend. I have embraced holiday sugar, no question.
Nom! What a warm, comforting, delightful tea. I am so glad its permanent.
It really nice to have a pot of this on a lazy weekend morning, but its also nice to have a mug of it on a workaday morning.
aha, you’ve given me the idea of adding a wee bit of vanilla bean honey to my lavender earl grey. yes, yes, that just might be the thing.
Vanilla bean honey? ooooooooooooooh…………..
