2967 Tasting Notes
In my newly realized quest to have only 40 teas in my possession come Black Friday, I will need to drink seven teas down in that time.
This is an excellent candidate for a work tea, as it was utterly ignored at home, I didn’t really like it, and it needed to get gone. Well, now it has, thank goodness!
One sipdown! Six to go.
I have so much of this. Really, its an almost overwhelming amount. Its a good thing I generally enjoy it.
But its been ignored at home, so it, in its stout little canister, is now going to cheer my desk up. A lot of tea at work is still a lot of tea, but it makes it easier to drink it all down.
I woke up much too early this morning, but there was nothing for it. I was awake, so I prepped for my day, and brewed up a sample of this for my morning pot of tea.
Overall not my very favorite. The popcorn adds an interesting savory quality, but I found the caramel taste to be a little too weak to hold up to the popcorn. I would have liked a better balance.
But, as I consumed the whole sample in one go, it has sparked a possibly foolish idea. Can I get myself down to 40 teas in the cupboard before Black Friday and all of the dangerous tea sales? I might be able to swing it, and wouldn’t that be just the best thing? I would feel so much freer to try new teas, if I had my cupboard whittled down that far.
So this sipdown starts the beginning of that quest! I think I can!
With my triumphant sipdowns of the weekend, it was time to select the next office tea, and this was the lucky winner.
I don’t dislike this blend at all, but I have a ton of it, and it has been more or less untouched for absolute yonks. Time to bring it to work and get it properly sipped down.
Firstly, and as I observe every time I drink this blend, I cannot believe that this is an Earl Grey. I cannot detect any hint of bergamot anywhere in it. Lots of lavender, yes, but no bergamot. In fact the whole tea seems smokey, which I associate more with lapsang, but may just be the lavender.
It shall be a very good work tea!
Didn’t sleep very well last night, partially due to nerves. I just auditioned for a play, something I have not done in a good decade. I used to act in things all the time, but my work schedule was too busy for too long, and I just got out of the habit.
Well, last night I decided to just go for it, and it was rather fun, though I’m not sure how I did. The director only had me read once, which means either that I nailed it or that I bombed completely. Only time will tell!
But this morning needed a good dusting of sparkly tea, so I went for this. Ahh, a good, comforting tea.
Scary stuff. Good on you for putting yourself out there. It’s hard to be vulnerable, but so good for us to take risks. And yay tea for helping us through the rough bits.
I absolutely had to have a pumpkin tea today. Its pumpkin day! I will be heading off to the pumpkin patch to select my gourds, and so I needed an appropriate brew to take with me.
I brewed up my entire sample of this into a good little pot of tea, which I’m enjoying, but am not completely blown away by. It seems to focus a bit more of pumpkin than a pumpkin chai would, but I’m getting the typical thing of more pumpkin spice than pumpkin.
Still, I think this is a fairly good example of the breed, and I’ve enjoyed this nice little pot!
Also a sipdown!
The final cup of tea of this blend has been drunk! My pouch is empty, the cup is devoid of tea, and I am both recovering from the general taste and reveling in my victory.
I did not care for this at all. It ranged from deeply boring to mildly unpleasant, depending of brewing parameters, and I am not at allllll sorry that its done.
At its best it was a watery cup that tasted like an apple and a stick from a bonfire had been swept around in it. At its worst, it was a weird blend of flavors that left the mouth dry and the drinker irritable.
But now it is gone! Oh Frabjous Day!!!!
Sipdown.
I can see the bottom of the package! Eeeek! I may only be one more cup away from my triumph over this brew!
I am feeling inspired. I may go past my usual one cup of this a day to kill it off. Stay tuned for the exciting conclusion…..
