50 Tasting Notes
It had an off… chemical flavor. Did not taste tea at all. :( Disappointed.
It was… ok.
Tazo has a fuller better flavor, this was kind of flat.
brewed in 8 oz water for 1 minute. :/ tastes nothing like oolong. tastes like really cheap crappy tea bag tea.
A good soft sunday afternoon tea.
Very sweet. The batch I have is more on the green side. So it has the bready/pastry flavor of DD along with some green and some floral tgy like flavor. I like it <3 . Its a different flavor than the medium DD I got from Taiwan tea crafts, but I can say that I like the both of them.
Its pretty darn good. Reminds me of a more complex, less astringent, lipton black.
If you like lipton but want to try some loose leaf black tea this would be a great one to start with.
I followed the gaiwan instructions.
<3 I had to add milk and sugar after the rinse and first infusion but otherwise it was super!
But I still prefer green teas.
following : Gaiwan 3oz Tea: 1p 6 steeps: rinse(10s),10s,10s,10s,15s,20s,30s
Rinse: dark colored brew, wet leaves smell like barn yard hay.
1st steep: Still smells of barn yard hay. ruby red brown liquor. :/ tastes like dried grass.
2nd steep: :? :/
3rd steep: :/
4th steep: :/
5th: it’s not really… astringent…. or too bitter…. its just a wierd “hay” flavor. :/
Quitting. I just don’t like it. Le sigh. atleast I have pu erh a try :)
used ~1.5 teaspoons tea, in a 75 ml (2.5 oz) gaiwan, with ~170* water, brewed for:
rinse,20s,35s,70s,120s. as per website instructions.
First infusion: slightly astringent. has a weird flavor. hmmm… Not sure I like this one yet.
second infusion: weird flavor is leaving, now its taking on an orchid like taste (like tgy).
third infusion was better as well. Not sure I like it or not. may have to have it a few more times to decide.
fourth tastes much better. :)
I didn’t look at the description before I brewed it. I assumed it was an oolong.
It’s light, air, and has an “open air” kind of flavor. Slightly fruity and sweet. I thought it was odd for an oolong, oh but wait its a white tea! Hmmm… my first white tea… I Kinda like it. Not sure really what to think of it but it seems like a good starting point.
Drank it again. Oh, its tasty. I like to sit out in my garden and pretend I am in an open prairie enjoying the fresh air. This tea just reminds me of fresh air, calmness, and freedom.
On days when I can’t escape the city, i can at least drink this and pretend I can escape.
