Ahhhhhh… Delicious. I forgot how good and simple this is to brew. Soft almost sweet taste. Subtle hint of bitter and umami.

Brewed four minutes at 140 f

I tried brewing 1/2 tsp in 4oz 140 degree water. Whisked with milk frother. first sip was a huge hit of astringency. I must has miss-measured the temp of the water or something. HAD to add milk today. whew! I was prepared to drink it straight to day but alas it was not to be.
maybe next time. when I have a chasen.

I have to cans from PRD 03/02/2012.
My first experience with real matcha. I love it. I have been whisking it in 4oz hot water and then adding 8oz warmed milk and whisking with a stick milk foamer. I found it is better without sugar. I have been trying a sip or two of the tea just after is is whisked to get more used to the flavor. At first it tasted too bitter/grass/sour. At first i thought i needed to get used to it, but it turns out that if i add the right temp of water i love it. I like it whisked in water that is a bit cooler 120-145. 145 is the highest that i can go before i can’t stand it.
If you try this matcha and don’t like it, please try it again with a different water temp. break out the thermometer and take notes to see what temp you like.

Not as good as real matcha but 1000X better than the other “green teas” i have had from the supermarket. would highly recommend for those wanting to try something with a more complex flavor than standard run of the mill teas. Def. recommend as a stepping stone tea to straight matcha. it gets you used to the flavor. Makes a great everyday tea without the hassle that comes with making a good cuppa matcha.
It does better with water that is less than 180*F. I usually use between 140 and 165.

Sweet, savory, and rich. Make sure to add only 100ml of water (my first to attempts at making this were with 16 oz and 8 oz and the results were not good). It has a nice creamy texture.
despite being produced on 2.16.2010 (around the time I purchased it) it is still good tasting. I have only one packet left. When i compared it to matcha latte that i made with Tea’s tea matcha it had a very similar flavor and negligible differences.

I like tea.
I started with Lipton’s black tea, then tried grocery store brand green tea, then the Sencha Matcha mix from the republic of tea, and now I’m getting my feet wet in the world of real Matcha.
