Had this earlier today from mom’s stash of tea. While its not a bad little cup, it was a little too bitter for me at 3mins. I likely won’t get another chance to have some but if I did I’d try 2.5 minutes with water just a little cooler, to see if that helps. I much prefer the breakfast tea I have from fortnums to this one but it was good to try.

Spdown! Brought this one to Toronto with me for my morning cup just in case dad wouldn’t let me have any of his tea. Happy to have this one to kick off the morning.

Having a cup of this today to start my morning with the parents. My parents are coffee drinkers in the morning so I’m on my own for tea. We’re off to watch Star Trek today before my other half and I will get back in the car to drive back to Toronto. It’s been really nice seeing my parents for this brief time :) especially since we’re not likely to see them again until Christmas.

Had a cup of this last night with my parents since my dad has a collection of tea now but never wants to make tea. He seems to think there’s some sort of rules for drinking tea that he hasn’t mastered. So this weekend was about trying to show him that tea is just meant to be enjoyed. Rules be damned! Make it and enjoy it however you want. I made this one, and I’m not sure if dad enjoyed this, but mom went sneaking back to the pot to make a second and third cup for herself after I told her the leaves could be resteeped :) so this was a success for at least one of my parents to the point where she’s written down the name on her list. Heh.

Mmmmm another tea in the travel much yesterday. Mostly because this was a sipdown but I was fairly sure that my parents had managed to find more of this while in Paris. I was right – though the way my dad tells it, they had to go to 5 different shops and make the shop keepers dig through the back cupboards for it. But they succeeded. They picked up this one and wedding imperial for me, as well as a dragon well tea from another famous? Shop in Paris that specializes in Chinese tea. All I know currently is that it comes in the most interesting boxes and that I’d rather sneak my dads puerh and box lol but I 100% wil enjoy what they brought back. Dad also picked up mf’s most expensive? Or almost most expensive silver needle, which I haven’t yet tried :)

Backlighting from yesterday as my other half and I opted to drive to Ottawa for basically the day. I took two mugs of tea in the car with me just in case and of course drank them both. I like how well this tea works in a travel mug. Even after a few hours when the tea gets a little cooler, it still tastes delicious!

sipdown! thank you again for this sample courtney This is a really nice tea if you’re looking for a dessert tea. It really does remind me of the way that chocolate chip cookie dough smells, and the way that it tastes. There’s vanilla and almond and chocolate and even the dough like flavour is there. There’s a sweetness to this but there’s also the bitterness that you’d get from using semi sweet chocolate chips instead of milk chocolate chips. Overall a really nice tea if you’re in the mood for dessert! :)

sipdown! thank you tattooed_Tea for this sample. There are green oolongs i like, those that i wish i could and then ones like this that are just never going to happen for me. This doesn’t have that green “oolong” taste that i have a hard time with, but there is a whole lot of floral-ness to this one that i just can’t stomach. It’s a fairly vegetal oolong as well, with that grassy taste hanging out in the background as well. Oh well, at least it’s another to knock off my list. I’ll try a resteep of this later on as well as a cold brew just to see if that changes how i feel about it.

sipown! thank you *hallieod for sending this along for me to try. I didn’t think i’d enjoy this much as there is a strong bergamot flavour to this. However, I’m open to trying things just in case! Overall? I wouldn’t ever order this myself but it’s not as iscky to me as i thought it would be. The base is rather smooth and the bergamot is softened by the other citrus fruits in the blend. My only wish? that this was a bit sweeter. There’s a bitterness from the fruits that makes this less pleasant than it could be. Still though…not too shabby :) Thanks Hallieod!

Last tea of the evening! Figured i should round out the evening with a tea that is nearing the end of my package…though for this one i DO have a second package thanks to jackieT

Still enjoying this over the strawberry pie from 52 teas, this one has a much smoother, creamier base to it without the intense cinnamon flavour that strawberry pie has. YAY for a great saturday sipdown :)

mmmmm one of my last teas for this evening…I managed to get down to 270 teas this weekend, so that makes me pretty happy. I’m picking up a few teas from my parents tomorrow so it will go up a bit but over all it’s looking like i’m on the downward slope again….finally. I won’t make 200 teas by the end of June but I think I can hold out and not buy any more teas until the end of June or keep it to really small orders.

This tea? It’s still one that i enjoy, though i’m nearing the end of it. I’ll have to figure out if i want to re-order this one as i’ve consistently wished the flavour was a little stronger. Still though, it’s a decent one for the no caffeine factor :) Plus kally teas has some great customer service!

thank you kallieboo! for this sample as well. HOLY JEEPERS this is SWEEEEEET! it smells divine…chocolate banana but man i can’t drink this because it is a walking talking cup of sugar. Maybe i’ll try the rest of my sample as a latte to see if that helps with the sweet fact because this could be a pretty darn delicious tea….if it weren’t so sweet. omg. seriously. wow.

thank you kallieboo! for this sample in our swap :) This is an interesting puerh. There’s an earthiness to this but there’s also a bit of a sweetness here that makes this a really nice tea.

I forgot that i’d had this one this morning so that i could pass the rest on to my parents. This is a pretty good morning black. There’s a lightness to it without losing any of it’s strength and it tastes delicious with a splash of milk :)

mmmmmm so glad i opted to pick up more of this tea to have in my cupboard outside of the sample that i had so long ago. I like that this tea is slightly malty but not overly strong and bold. This has a little bit of sweet fruitness to it, but not in an overly sugary kind of way. Enjoying revisiting this one.

mmmmmmm another cup of this one this evening. Once again i’m struck by how delicious this is. I’m looking forward to trying the others from Stacy! This is a sweet tasty cup of smooth delicious wonder. This tea really doesn’t come across as a black tea – it’s really light and fresh and i have no words.

thanks to indigobloom for a sample of this one. Once again i am underwhelmed by another tea emporium selection. they just don’t seem to have it going on for my tastebuds. At least this one doesn’t taste BAD but it’s very much an average cup of tea. There’s a sweetness to this one along with a roastiness.

sipdown! I tried this one as an iced brew just to see how it fares….yeah still hasn’t improved my opinion of this one. but at least i got the chance to try it! Thanks again courtney :)

mmmm finally got a chance to sit down with this one. I am a fan! it’s one of those kick in the face sort of teas that is bold and strong and very much a BLACK tea! I think i may hold on to this one and not let my parents have it lol. they have plenty of others coming from me heh

Sipdown! Another tea i’m sharing with my parents this weekend. I’m not a big fan of english breakfast teas but this one isn’t bad. There’s a taste in here that i’m not a fan of but i can’t place it today. Overall though a nice enough blend that i think my parents will really enjoy trying!

oh man! Thank you Kallieboo! Holy crap this is a tasty green tea. I’ve sort of gotten used to all strawberry greens tasting the same and this one is for sure not like all others. I ended up drinking this one down super fast and found myself surprised when i hit the end of the cup without realising it! I’ll have to do a cold brew with the other bit of my sample, but this just might have to go on my list of teas to pick up later. it’s a creamy strawberry yummy tea! And the rice is an interesting take :)

SIPDOWN! I brewed a cup of this one as a goodbye because i’m giving the last 2 cups that i have to my dad to try out. He’s driving my mother insane with his new found love of loose leaf tea which mom blames on me. They recently went to paris, got to experience a real tea ceremony and came home with a price list of some company in france who will not take online orders, and you basically have to phone the order in. I get the impression it’s like a higher end/bigger scale type place like verdant or some others. They bought me tea from there, so that should be interesting. In any case, i’m trying to find some other options for them that are closer to home lol

I think my mom will like this one. It’s an excellent green oolong that i love! It’s got honey notes, and it’s floral and mostly it’s a cup of delicious!

This one isn’t bad. I’m not as in love with it as a number of people are, but it’s nice to finally try this. I like the marshmallow/mint combination.
