So i think I’ve had maybe one puerh to date and it wasn’t that impressive. I ordered this one on a whim to give it a try and see if i could get into it or if it was a type of tea to cross off my list.

The aroma off this tea while steeping is one i can’t quite place. If my other half was here tonight i’m sure he could tell me but I can’t figure it out. It’s an aroma that left me a bit worried as to the taste. I should know by now that Stacy hasn’t steered me wrong yet- even if i don’t LOVE it, i won’t hate it.

I’m going to have to have more of this… There’s a bit of fruitiness but it’s almost like the taste of the texture prunes have. yeah this doesn’t taste like prunes..but like dried prune’s textures…when they’re all mushy in your mouth. It’s…really good but it’s different. there will be more tastings to come, perhaps on the weekend when i can give this it’s full attention. :)

I wouldn’t count this puerh as a puerh experience. It doesn’t taste like any other puerhs I’ve tasted. The main note I get from this is roasted chestnuts but others have said acorn which I think might be a better description, not that I’ve tasted acorn.

what you don’t go licking squirrel food? :P

This is still my baby step in the world of pureh heh. Kinda like oolongs… gotta take it slow…eaaaaase into things

Butiki Teas

Nope, I don’t go around licking squirrel food most days. Hmmm, well I would recommend our Wild Purple Buds Puerh then. A lot of beginners have mentioned that it was more palatable than other puerhs they have tried. Its very mild. It has lightly smoked oak notes with honey and floral notes.

So no real clue what to write about myself here. A friend got me into drinking loose tea and it’s something I thoroughly enjoy though I have nowhere near the experience that many folks on the boards seem to have.

My other interests are cycling, reading, board games, disney cruises, world of warcraft and dancing – in no particular order. I love travelling as well!

Most of that is on hold these days though, including tea drinking like I used to as I have a new little one who eats up all my spare time.
