SO i have to say that this one smells wonderful…and then you let it steep forever and it’s fine. and then..you drink it and i kid you not, it totally tastes like the liquid left over at the end of a fruit cup…only not nearly as sweet. My other half tried it and was like “man…i totally half expect to see one of those cherries floating around in the tea” and that ladies and gentlemen, sums up this tea. Love it lol
1790 Tasting Notes
la la la testing and hating the people i am backing up this week. la la la Figured i’d better stop drinking all that black tea…so a few rounds of rooibos are coming up! I still like this one even if it’s not the most amazing incredible rooibos tea ever. The flavour is nice, it’s tasty….i can let it steep for 20 mins and it’s just fine lol you know..by accident of course lol
This is a percent decent tea, though it’s slippery and hard to describe. The aroma of peach is delightful but doesn’t linger. It’s a rooibos which, ill be honest,is unusual in my tea preferences. My peach teas tend to be fruit based tisanes or green teas. This…this is a light peachy tea. The rooibos blends nicely, though it occasionally changes and I think for just a moment that its going to turn into a blechy rooibos tasting tea, but then it turns and its peach again. It’s be interesting to see if this turned out ok as a cold brew.
nonononononono
bitter oranges. No thank you. Going in to the swap box!
Figured i really need to try more of the teas in my cupboard that I haven’t tried yet. Soooo, since i’m on a rlol with sipdowns today i’m taking a break to try some of the new ones and see what i think of them. Also…i’ve had waaaaay too much tea today lol like i do every time i work from home. But testing tonight so i’m up until at least midnight anyway so what the hell.
I didn’t realise that this one had fruit in it as well as the caramel and honey. I really seem to prefer my caramel without the fruit unless we’re talking about damman or mariage freres. In this case, it’s not too bad. The flavouring just seems a little weak. I’ll have to try this a again and see if adding a wee bit of sweetener helps in the greater scheme of things.
Verdict is still out on this one. I had a cup of this tonight and it was not nearly as delicious as it smelled. I did steep it for 2.5 mins so i may try knocking that down to 2 to see where i’m at afterwards. It’s for sure different than blue berry zabaglione, but not quite what i’d hopped for. still, i’ve got lots to try and see how i can make it better. If not, well good swap material haha
sipdown! you know… for whatever reason, i don’t love this nearly as much as i did the first time around. It might be because this is a different picking or something but the first time, i was in love! now i’m like meh. I wouldn’t be oppoed to picking up a sample of this later on and see if my tastes have changed again but for now, i can live without it for a while.
mmmm i am still really digging this tea. having this as a relaxing cup before dinner and testing tonight. Soooo glad it’s almost the weekend!
Thank you for this sample Starfevre!
I’m still pretty undecided about this tea. I think part of it, is that in the case where chamomile is concerned, the frustration from having it in any of my baskets makes me more inclined to be critical of the tea. if that makes sense. Overall this is a pretty good mint chocolate tea. I’m just not sure how i feel yet about the addition of the chamomille. I think it’s proabably better than the current rating i’m giving it, but that’s a tentative rating until i can try it a couple more times.
SIPDOWn!
ok this is a really weird tea. It reminds me for of a black than anything and has this really weird taste to it that’s fruity and woodsy and just totally weird. not sure i can get behind this but thank you indigobloom for the sample!
SIPDOWN! because my other half totally drank a cup of this with me haha Thanks to kittenna for a sample of this one. To me? this is just another average ordinaryl chamomile tea. it’s got some mint, some chammomile…nothing too exciting, nothing too bad. Just a kills my brew basket if i forget and use it lol
i REALLLLLLLYYYY thought i’d like this cold since it’s quite an enjoyable cup of hot tea. Turns out? not so much. I ended up having a few sips, trying to sweeten it and then dumping the rest of my little glass. I still quite enjoy this as a hot tea, so no worries there. Just haven’t managed to find another cold tea that my other half likes.
steepster ate my note. I forgot to copy before hitting submit. sigh
long story short, trying out some of my lupicia teas as cold brews to find something my other half will drink in the summer besides juice.
No notes yet.
Sipdown!
I means..i guess technically this tea is pretty much liquid cinnamon hearts but it’s not all that tasty, and you for sure can’t actually taste any of the pu-erh base. I’d much prefer sticking a bunch of cinnamon heart in my mouth and drinking hot water :)
after the last fiasco, i needed a good cup of something to erase the taste from my mouth. This is very nearly a sipdown from my swap with Hesper June but not quite :) However, i just look at it as prep for another day hahaha. I still really enjoy this one quite a bit. It’s not my favourite of the H&S teas that i’ve tried but it is a nice fruity sort of tea without actually being overly fruity. if that makes sense lol
Thanks to courtney for letting me know that this was on steepster but as one word. Only reason i’m logging this….GROSS!
Seriously, this is really not up my alley. I think this is maybe 1 or 2 teas that i’ve ever taken a sip of and simply spat it back into the tea cup. If i could rate it as a negative number i would.
ick. I’m sure there are reason, and maybe this would be better cold but never again. no way, no how. gaaaaaah yuck!
Sipdown!
I feel like this tea would be better as a cold brew. It’s got a nice flavour but there’s a tartness to it that reminds me of hibiscus more than pomegranate. It’s not particularly “mango-ey” either in my opinion, but that might be more due to the sample ratio than anything. Of course to me that sort of speaks to the tea as well, since i don’t like drinking teas where the taste is dependant on which pieces of whatever fall in to your cup. IMO you should be able to get a fairly consistent cup of tea no matter what your sppon picks up. Overall, not sure what the fuss is about. It tastes much more artifical tasting to me than anything. It’s not a bad cup, but if i never had it again, i certainly wouldn’t be upset.
(on a side note, i also tried a cup of super berry from david’s which isn’t on steepster, so i’m not going to add it because i pretty much sipped and spat it back into the cup. gross!)
I’m pretty sure i got this one from indigobloom so thank you! SIPDOWN! as well! today i’m working from home so here’s to some sipdowns and work on others teas so sipdowns will happen sooner with those. Gotta keep on track lol
I don’t hate this one, but i don’t love it. It does have a very pleasant citrusy flavour initially but then the after taste kicks in and i dislike that a lot. However, that being said, I’m not a big fan of mate anyway, so this is likely a pretty good tea haha
So i have to say? This is not eggnog. Maybe my nose receptors are off, as are my other halfs…but while this was brewing, we totally agreed that this was like baked goods…sticky gooey baked goods, made with lots of butter…like fresh out of the oven gooey cinnamon rolls.
I was REALLLY hesitant to try this one though because i was for sure convinced that it would never taste as delicious as it smells. Also, sticking your nose in really close makes it not smell as good as well :)
So the tea? It’s actually pretty darn good. There’s a creaminess to it that is delicious, but i still don’t think this is eggnog, at least not so much. This reminds me more of cinnamon buns and i’m sticking with that. This is like gooey cinnamon buns without the overpowering cinnamon that happens with 52 teas cinnamon buns. This is like the after taste, when you’re licking your fingers off after eating a cinnabon…delicious!
So um….I thought I’d really like this one since I’m a fan of peach and such. Turns out I’d rather drink a really oolongy oolong than this one. While It does have a peach taste to it, there’s something in here which is turning my stomach. Is not even peach like peach drink…it’s just. Yeah….it smells lovely…fruity and like it would be super tasty….but no.
Sipdown! I pretty much just decided to get through all my oolongs since then I can compare them and figure out what I like or don’t like about them, at least in terms of my sample oolongs. This one? It’s got that floral undertone that I don’t like….pretty much this is an average every day middle of the road oolong. I don’t outright hate it, I don’t love it.
backlog from this morning
I had this as a tasty tasty cup to occupy my morning of craziness, though less crazy than the previous 4 days. :) I’m pretty good with the taste of this one – it’s not overly creamy but it does have a nice raspberry taste that fits in with the black base
Sipdown!
I tried this one today purely because when I opened the can, it smelled very similar to oolong creme from sloane that I love. So I figured that maybe this would be similar and then I’d be able to declare with a resounding YES! It’s milky oolongs that I love. But sadly, that’s not to be. Now, to be fair, this is a uch more pleasant cup that most oolongs, and I am enjoying it. But I’d rather drink sloane’s version…in a heartbeat, mostly because I don’t love oolongs, so I have zero desire to spend my time on oolongs that are not as yummy :)
This for sure has that milky creaminess that I love…but there’s a slightly more floral taste to this one on the tail end of the sip. It’s not that “oolong taste” that I don’t like but it is a bit sweetly floral. So, while I don’t hate this one, ill drink another instead.
