cavocorax provide me with this sample which i’m willing to bed was the second package from samples she would have picked up from Angel heh. teavivre really is generous when it comes to their samples. I’d be happy with ONE package as a sample and they nearly always send at least 2!
This reminds me of Wild Monk from Mandala but without the smoke that i adore. this is more of a green sort of puerh than an earthy one – leaning towards coming across as vegetal. It reminds me a little of some of the green teas that i’ve had recently from teavivre but without the juiciness. Instead this is more subdued..bordering on almost nut like versus snap peas or something similar. Over all, quite lovely through a few steepings!
this is another from MissB and i’m happy to say that this is a really nice chocolate tea. I still prefer mousse au chocolat, because that’s a rich, decadent dark chocolate tea, but this is a really nice milk chocolate sort of tea. It’s not sweet, exactly but it is closer to being milk chocolate than dark. this doesn’t come across as artificial so that’s a win for me! thanks missb!
Terri sent me this a long while back and though i’d had it a few times now, i haven’t yet written about it because i hadn’t really figured out how i felt about it. Often with puerhs i generally either really like them right off the get go, or i dislike them. This falls into that random not sure how i feel about this sort of puerh. it’s sort of malty..but mostly just kinda of middle of the road, not really committing to anything solid. I feel like this wouldn’t be a bad intro to puerh for someone who didn’t like really bold black teas or something. Would i ever purchase this myself? nope. I’ve enjoyed others more..but it’s not a bad tea.. thanks terri!
this tea comes to me via the BBB Box and specifically from tastybrew. let me tell you, since having this earlier, i’ve been kicking myself for not having it sooner. this tea is a smokey tea for sure. It’s not overly so, but i have been known on occasion to tolerate more smoke than your average person :) What i really like about this one is that there’s also a sweetness here that reminds me of honey, without being exactly like honey. I’m going to enjoy drinking this one while i’ve got it! thanks ladies! always a fun time trying new things :)
Another tea from MissB oh to be involved in all the crazy things she is! :) Miss you!
This one is an interesting tea. I wasn’t quite sure what i was smelling when i brewed it, but the first few sips of this were for sure apricot. the mint addition to this one is a really interesting take on a tea and one that i’m fond of. There’s something neat about sipping on a tea that smells like fruit and summer and then tastes more like winter heh. I am a fan :)
maaaan… stacy sent this my way as a sample in my birthday order and i’m so glad she did. I’d forgotten just how much i love this tea. I’ve had a couple steepings now since i’ve been up and it’s such a contrast to the sansia black that i’ve also been drinking. i love the woody, fruity taste to this one that goes along with the strength of the tea. YUM! so glad i got the chance to have this again and this time, i’m remembering to put it on my wishlist!
started the morning off Butiki style with a couple of great teas this morning, one of which was this one. I’ll probably also have this one again later this week because i’m enjoying it as part of my morning rotation. it’s not my all time favourite stacy tea but there’s something about it that’s just working for me today on these cooler, greyer mornings.
