3080 Tasting Notes
Another tea that i’ve been drinking all morning from the reserve club. This is one of the few puerhs from verdant that i really enjoy, as in the past i’ve much preferred Mandala’s offering. I am a fan… love it!
Finally caught up with my tea logs from yesterday! i’ve been drinking this one today as i’m trying to spend some time going through my verdant reserve club teas today. They won’t be sipdowns but they are my oldest teas and the ones i have a tendency to hoarde. This is actually quite a nice oolong as far as oolongs go. it has that oolong taste that i don’t mind, but also don’t love. I have a tricky time with oolongs. Green ones often have that oolongy taste that i don’t like…and roasted oolongs sometimes have a particular taste that i also don’t like. this particular oolong has the same sort of taste, but it’s much less in this particular version. Overall it’s a nice tea.
Another one from last night – one of my friends isn’t feeling well so he risked asking me to make him tea. He ended up drinking this one but added a bit of triple sec and rum? i think it was to it…followed by some honey. It actually made for a pretty tasty cup of tea! A little strong for my tastes (in the alcohol department) but something i’d be willing to try again just for fun!
I picked this up when I was in Hilton head because my experience with the republic of tea through variouss trade has been that their bagged teas are decent enough when i need things for travelling or i’m too lazy to brew things properly. Kittenna borrowed a few of these for her travel to New Zealand and said it was a pretty good tea. This one isn’t available on the republic’s website since it appears to be made exclusively for the fresh market.
Overall, from what i recall last night, it was a pretty decent tea. I let it steep forever and it just enhanced the flavours. I won’t cry when i finish it, but i will enjoy drinking this tea when i need a caffeine free, tea bag option :)
Another one from last night. Not a tea i need to keep on hand but a few cups here and there is a good time :)
One of my samples that Angel sent me, that sadly I neglected to pay attention to while drinking. Luckily though, I have another packet that i can use to have this again. I think I prefer Teavivre’s superfine keemun over this one, but this one is still delicious. I added a splash of maple as i always do to keemuns, and had this gulped down in the morning before i realised it!
I had this one last night in latte form, which appears to be the way that i really love this tea. I don’t fancy it as much when it’s steeped in water. Still though, it was a tasty treat!
I have some backlogging to do this morning. We had friends over last night so i didn’t get much of a chance to do anything besides eat and have fun while drinking tea :) such a hard life.. heh
I don’t recall much about this one other than it was SOOOOO tasty while i was at work. once i get a chance to drink it again, i’ll capture a better note. That being said, this was really a great tea to have yesterday!
Having a cup of this while i watch some dr who tonight! Sadly achieving my goal of 150 teas was short lived, but I feel like maybe the mail system was just rewarding me for getting there finally… my swap from Alice arrived tonight so I’ve got 10 teas to go to get back to my goal. 10 is easy though, and i’ve got plenty of time, AND a long weekend… though I suspect i’ll reward myself this weekend with getting through more of my puerhs first!
This one is still tasty, and i’m happy i got to try the tea that won third in the tea championship but once i’m finished with this one, i’m good for a while heh.
cough attention…SIPDOWN! 150! oh yeah baby! that’s right! woot woot! However, this will be short lived as i’m fairly certain there’s a package at the post office my other half is picking up for me today haha. But, i did something i didn’t think was possible and managed to get to 150. Now to see if i can get a little closer to 100 before black friday, just for funsies :)
Sad to see this one go, but i know it’ll be back. I am a fan of this delicious offering from Stacy!
