4875 Tasting Notes
sipdown! (178…so 28 teas to go until black friday!) That makes me super happy since i suspect the next week or so will be less sipdowns than normal. I will likely reorder this as it is an interesting puerh that resteeps super well. I’ve been drinking this for most of the afternoon while i tried to wrap up work for the weekend.
this is kinda like a black tea that forgot it was supposed to be a pumpkin spice tea. Dinosara sent some my way and it appears that our impressions of this tea are similar. If i were going to drink a pumpkin spice tea…it wouldn’t be this one. this is like a snooze fest for my mouth. Oh well…love trying new teas! even if they’re not that impressive haha
mmmm had this as a normal tea today and it was still delicious! I think this could potentially be a permanent or semi permanent fixture in the cupboard for when i want a vanilla fix. I suppose that will depend on how it compares to the 1-2 others i have in my cupboard..but so far it’s looking good!
Also drinking this one today…i think i’m trying to get through a couple puerhs as well as manage 9 sipdowns so that I’m in a great spot for next week where i won’t get the chance to really do much except drink 1-2 teas. My initial impression of this one is that i REALLY don’t like it. But this is just the first steeping. It’s almost too musty for me..or something. We’ll see what later steepings hold.
Edi: Additional steepings have improved my initial impressions of this one, but not enough for me to want to drink this again. Guess it’s just not up my alley.
sipdown! So only on the first steep at the moment but this is not the puerh for me if that’s a sign of things. I’m going to go through a few more steepings to make sure it’s not the taste in my mouth from my previous tea throwing things off and to see if later steeps are more enjoyable. Initial impressions are that this is too mushroomy/wet sloppy ground for me. But i’ll get back to you on that lol
Edit: Additional steepings make this a much more enjoyable puerh than i originally thought. However, it’s still not something i’d want to keep around. I much prefer some of the others that i’ve had through mandala as they’re great from start to finish. Thanks for sharing this with me terri!
