5600 Tasting Notes
Oh to find a GINGERpeach tea. Actually i think GINGERapricot would be much more of a happy place for me since i’ve gone off of peach. All that being said, this way my free sample from Adagio because i said i prefered black tea. that will teach me. On the upside? someone else gets to try the rest of this haha. This is more like a peach tea…with a bit of ginger. And yeah..that’s all i have to say about that.
mmmmm this was supposed to be my first tea back, but i packed it all up for work and then realised i couldn’t find my pass so i said forget that and worked from home today. But since both the teas i’d made were in their travel mugs, i drank a few other teas first. This really is one of my go to happy teas. it always makes things right for me :)
on a non LB related note, i am at 158 teas today…while you might think this is great! since i was trying to get to 150 for the end of the month, and 8 teas in 5 days is nothing… i have to officially throw in the towel on that goal and maybe try and look at getting there for the end of February. Because i went shopping in CHicago while i was away.
First Stop – Adagio tea, because i haven’t been over the moon with their teas, but their fandom blends keep making me want them. So i picked up the Dr Who Fandom set – if only because i will love the tins once the tea is going. I almost bought Rocket fuel in a tin and the sherlock fandom set, but i resisted. They threw in a sample and that made is 11 teas from Adagio.
Next stop – Tea Gscwewnwefjwoiru a fantastic little tea shop that i ran out of time to fully explore. Had a sample while i was there, picked up 4 teas and then at check out was given a book on tea, a tea measuring spoon AND i got to pick out a sample of whatever tea i wanted..so that’s another 5 teas.
Target – found Harney and Sons tins for 5$ – managed to stick to buying ONE…wanted 4. haha
1 impromptu trip to chicago – 17 new teas added to my cupboard, not to mention the 6 coming from River tea and the 4 from verdant. Soooo 150 in 5 days? not going to happen but you know what?
I. Don’t. Care. mwahahahahahaha
(also…toronto tea festival this weekend means AT LEAST another 4 more teas will be in my cupboard i’m sure…though technically that will be february haha)
Yunnans are not my favourite tea. But I’ve had some delicious ones and some less than delicious ones. :) This one is from the lovely Teafairy and is a fairly decent, middle of the road, yunnan. I like the average-ness of this one, funnily enough. it’s a tea that i can get behind drinking when you want something that isnt out of this world but is still a comforting cup. :) thanks teafairy!
Another tea from the Teafairy! I’m neaaaarly getting close to finishing off the rest of the teas she sent me. It’s mostly the flavoured teas that i have left which is always fun :) I’ve been focusing on the unflavoured teas because that sample container was overflowing a little. This one is ok. I have a hard time with darjeelings so they’re often more miss than hit with me. This one is light and refreshing but not quite the tea for me. However, nice to try :) thanks teafairy!
sipdown on this one! Another share from the teafairy. I like that people send me teas that aren’t necessarily up my alley so that i continue to try things that i wouldn’t reach for on my own. Sometimes it’s a rousing success, other times it’s a miss. This one falls somewhere in the middle. It’s a nice enough tea but it doesn’t make me want to restock it, have more or sing it’s praises. But it’s not a bad tea. It just happens to be a green tea. haha. It’s slightly sweet, vegetal…sort of your typical green tea. Thanks for sharing though Teafairy!
mmmmm thank you teafairy for this one! I’m sending the last little bit of this over to terri to try because i think she might like the sweetness in this one. I’ve been sipping this one this morning with a few resteeps and it is mighty tasty :) I can see why you love it! thank you so much for sharing!
thank you Tastybrew! This is another of the BBB Box offerings that came my way a little while ago. This might? be one of the first teas that i’ve had from the California Tea house and it’s a pretty decent tea. I’m not sure that it knocks any of my top contenders out of the running but it’s a really nice sweet, chocolately, slightly malty sort of cup that suits me quite nicely! Thanks for sharing TB!
I figured with the obscene amount of tea i keep picking up, I should get cracking on the teas from the BBB Box today since life is conspiring against me getting enough work done.
This is a decent enough tea, though i’m not in love with it due to the dryness that is left in my mouth while drinking it. I brewed this western and didn’t get any of the notes that Tastybrew did, so I’m going to hold off on this one until i have a chance to brew it gaiwan style since this particular tea might be best suited for that. Either way, still an enjoyable cup, but left me with a dry mouth. :)
