8069 Tasting Notes
this was my morning tea today, though it’s not exactly this tea. A few of us are experimenting with vanilla bean and this was a trial to see how the blending is coming along. so far so good, it’s not nearly as vanilla-y as i want it to be but it it IS really tastey. the vanilla adding a little creaminess to this base. I’ll have to let is sit a little longer and maybe add a bit of vanilla powder as well, see if that helps make it a richer taste. so far though, not too shabby!
another tea from Anlina that i had the other night. This one is a must try for coconut lovers. That being said, i’m not a HUGE fan of coconut as i find in tea blends that it goes rancid fairly quickly and sometimes the tastes is too intense. That being said, i can understand how folks who love coconut would enjoy this a bunch. It’s creamy and chocoaltey and very much like a dessert tea. Sadly the coconut is too much for me to really love it. It’s more personal preference than this being a bad tea. :)
noms. I am lazy these days. Maybe it’s not lazy so much as…. drained. I keep falling behind with things – tea related and otherwise. I had this one a couple days ago – feeling like very little progress is happening with my tea cupboard this year. lol it’s almost april and i’m still well over what i ended last year with. Still enjoying the teas though, so that’s all that really matters. :)
Another from Anlina and one from my wishlist. While dexter and I are experimenting with blending vanilla teas, it’s nice to continue looking for that perfect vanilla tea. This one is pretty darn tasty. I like the base tea here and the vanilla comes across very clearly. Even cooled it was still a really pleasant vanilla cup of tea. Thanks Anlina!

Anlina was awesome enough to let me try this one from secret garden. I was intrigued by this one as i always seem to gravitate towards pear teas…sadly this one was a miss for me as i didn’t get much pear out of it and it seemed a little bitter. I was trying to be careful about steeping it, as anlina suggested that they are a bit finicky but maybe i mistimed this one. It was just sort of bitter and neither plumlike nor pear like for me. I may try this one again in future though as it seems like the potential is there so i may just have messed it up.
I had this in usual latte style after our very short bike ride this afternoon. It’s still a little cold, and i’m seriously tired this weekend but we need to start getting out even for short ride so that we get back into the swing of things for the summer. I love this tea in latte form. I’ll be sad when it’s gone but suspect it’ll take me a while longer yet to get through the 100g or so i have left!
