4729 Tasting Notes
Sipdown! (see terri, i AM trying even though i don’t normally achieve sipdowns through my work teas…) The last lonely cup of this one will also be going to a random swap partner to try out. I prefer the assams to this one, but the one reason i had wanted to try this was because i had tried a similar tea via butiki. Now, i can’t recall how that one tasted but impressions are good.
While it was nice to have this one, i feel like i’m better off not keeping it as a staple in my cupboard because there are others i prefer more. This is a tasty treat that i like, but it’s more of a rotate in from time to time sort of tea :)
sipdown! I tucked this into my travel mug today because it was very nearly a sipdown AND i wanted something lighter and refreshing today. Lighter while still clearly being a black tea. I have enough left for a cup, but i’m choosing to pass that on to a random tea swapping friend to share the Taiwan Tea Crafts love. :) This has been a delicious time drinking this one and #154…so not sure which i love more :)
sigh Apparently i didn’t add this one to my cupboard, though i swear i did. So um yay sipdown..but this does nothing for my cupboard count. So Terri, if i haven’t missed anything else in my cupboard i’m at 271…except tomorrow i’ll be adding 15? teas to my cupboard sigh so you might as well consider me as being at 285ish lol I really should do a swap to help get some of the larger quantities of tea that i have out of my cupboard BUT that also means a bunch of samples will come in…which is both good and bad and good and bad lol
oh first world problems, how i hate you haha
This tea has a nasty gross smell that i cannot handle. But i managed a couple sips of the tea and i actually love it a lot. But i can’t get past the smell of the oiliness of the tea. I figured out, by reading the comments that it’s likely something to do with the coconut because it smelled familiar, even though i don’t like it.
I might try cold brewing a little of it just to see if that produces a brew that i can tolerate the smell on haha. Oh well, still nice to have tried this :) thanks terri!
Another sample from kittenna Maybe i can get through them all before the weekend so i don’t have to actually log them in to my steepster cupboard (they’re still part of my over all count). This one is a really tasty tea! I’m finding i enjoy a lot of the fruity honeybush teas frank makes unless they’re alcoholic flavours….in those instances i like black better :)
This is a tasty tea with both the watermelon AND blackberry coming through in the steeping. I’m thinking i’ll probably try and cold brew the second steep just to see how that fares since i think this would be fantastic with a little sweetner :) thanks kittenna!
Sample sipdown from kittenna
This is one i can get behind! Delicious creamy chocolate, vanilla and even a hint of strawberry…which is fine with me since that’s the one ice cream i would never eat lol I always left the strawberry for dad to have to eat. I think this one a bunch. might even contemplate a bag for myself someday when i get around to picking up more teas from frank!
haha i didn’t realise that i had already tried this before and snagged enough for another cup from Kittenna this weekend. Apparently its one of those teas from frank that i enjoy a bunch. I’m not getting much “cheesecake” flavouring here, but i love the banana + genmaicha flavour so it’s still doing it right in my books! Thanks Kittenna!
given the new teas that arrived today from Kaylee and the order arriving tomorrow from tao leaf tea, i’m not likely to catch up to my tea sister just yet. However, i’m still trying to do my best tonight to get closer to where she is at so we can have a bit of fun haha.
This tea is pretty much a green tea to me, with a hint of something that might be a little fruity? I’m not sure if it was just over contaminated by the travelling tea box it was in or what, but i didn’t feel like finish up the cup i made – it was that “meh” to me.
