5056 Tasting Notes
I picked this up on the weekend since i was trying to remember if i liked it or not. I still do, so that’s good to know, though it’s less wonderful than the first time i had it as my tastes have evolved from last year. No need to restock this, but i would be open to picking this up occasionally to enjoy from time to time.
this is my “required” sipdown for today, though it hardly counts as a sipdown since it’s been in my cupboard for all of a day. Kittenna dropped off tea with me before her trip so i’m just bringing myself back to 160 tonight at the least so that i don’t feel pressured to sipdown things this week. If i do, great, otherwise who cares! only 10 left to go! haha
I think i have LB on the brain since this is reminding me of it – at least as a sweeter, less malty sort of version of it. I could also pick up on the peach flavors towards the middle of the sip in the later infusions. Overall a really nice tea from yezi!
so i took the day off today. Off from sipdowns and older teas and i cracked open the 4oz of this that i picked up in september to really enjoy a tea today. I was up a little later last night than i wanted to be since Kittenna was crashing at my place to be close to the airport for her trip. So today was about tea enjoyment…no goals, no agenda, just 2 teas that i wanted to drink. And oh man….sooo worth it. I love this tea. I’ve missed this tea. booyah baby. booyah.
I had a cup of this tonight while watching World War Z – overall not a bad cup of tea. I don’t get the red velvet cake that others do, instead this is just a decent ginger-ish sort of rooibos tea without being overly rooibosy. I only picked up enough for 2 or so Sil sized servings and that’s enough for me. it’s not amazing enough to warrant a larger purchase even if it is another ginger/non caffinated tea.
sipdown! (158) I made some of this up cold brew to see how it compares to the hot version and it’s not half bad. I do really like that this is apricot and not peach. it’s a nice change from all the peach teas i overdosed on when i first started drinking tea last year. Cold, this is nearly as nice as the hot version, though it doesn’t really pop until i added a bit of sugar. Yum!
