3743 Tasting Notes
mmmm thank you Mercuryhime! for this sample. I don’t have easy access to Lupicia here in canada so i asked for a taste of this when Mercuryhime and i swapped. I’ve been trying to branch out and explore a few flavoured puerhs as well as unflavoured.
I can get behind this one. The puerh isn’t overly strong but it’s much more present than the lsat few david’s tea flavoured puerhs i’ve tried. There is a chocolate taste here that’s quite enjoyable and it balances well with the strawberry flavour. It’s like a creamy chocolate strawberry taste. Actually della could take a page from this one :)
Thanks again mercuryhime!
I opted to try this one cold before hot since i had a suspicion this would be a much more enjoyable cold brew. I totally didn’t register that this had hibiscus in it. So i’ll give steep city total props for that! This isn’t a tart hibiscus brew that so often happens when i cold brew blends with hibiscus in them. This is somewhere between mango and peach but as a cold brew i quite like it. Holding off rating it until i get a chance to also try it hot but it’s about an 80 at the moment.
After thinking about it, i’ve dropped the rating on this one. While it’s a perfectly fine generically sweet crumbly kind of tea, it’s not blueberry. it’s like a brown sugar, cinnamon sweet thing. So if that sort of thing is up your alley, you’ll probably love this. But i wanted blueberry. :(
I figured today was the day to try and get down some of my 1-2 cup samples. In that vein i wanted to kick off the day with a nice bold cup of black. I do quite enjoy this blend though the tiger assam is for sure my fav of the 4 a&d teas currently available. This one has a bit to it that, if you don’t enjoy that in a black, will make you not like this tea. Not the case for me, but for others that might not make this as enjoyable.
So i don’t like a lot of oolongs. But since this was a shared sample, i thought what the hell. Kittylovestea has done a great job with her review and i don’t have much more to add other than this is a pretty decent oolong with a nice subtle orange flavour. I’d consider ordering this again for the occasional flavoured oolong tea time. there’s just enough of that roasty oolong flavour to make it my preferred type of oolong and then the addition of the orange is a tasty tasty thing :)
