7437 Tasting Notes
nom! Cameron B. sent this one my way and this afternoon i had this for a couple steeps. I’m not the worlds most huge fan of snaily tea but i DO rather like this one. it’s sweet and malty and downright delicious! I picked up on honey notes and some cocoa. I think i’d like to pick up more of this in future…if i can handle aliexpress lol
Another sample from CameronB. Funnily enough, i was least excited about this one because i’m always wary of coconut. It’s not like the blerg..but i find it goes “off” more easily than not. So i’m always ever so cautious about it. However, this is perfectly fine. :) The blend is more almond than coconut to me, though there is clearly an element of coconut within the tea. I think what i’m finding lacking in it though, is the tea base. The tea itself doesn’t appear to be adding much to the blend. That doesn’t mean it’s a BAD tea – i like the creaminess of this especially. It might make for an interestingly creamy latte heh. thanks again cameron!
i’m 98% certain that this is the tea i’m drinking by process of elimination on the other samples cameron B. sent me haha Thiis tea… is smooth…and smells sweet. I likely didn’t do this one justice as i got distracted with work and drank it all up before i realised it..then had a second steep and drank that up as well lol. that typically means that i’ve really enjoyed a tea. What i recall is that this had a sweet, stone fruit sort of maltiness to it. I didn’t get all the wonderful notes in this that YYZ did, but i’d consider picking up more of this if i ever stop being scared to start shopin on aliexpress. lol
thanks again Cameron!
sample sipdown! haha i’ve got to get through these wonderful samples cameron B sent me :) before my orders show up. This tea is REALLY smelly haha. It managed to make all the bags in the swap cameron sent me, smell like this tea. Such that when i opened the tin that i put a different sample in, it smelled like this tea. (however, the teas weren’t contaminated so no worries there cameron!)
this is a really nice cherry tea. It’s not too sweet, and it doesn’t have that artificial cherry taste – maybe because of the type of cherry tea that this is? There’s no sourness to this either – i’m not really overly familiar with “fig” as a taste but maybe that’s why it’s got a mellow middle of the road flavour going on from a sweet/sour perspective. It’s also really nice to not see hibiscus in this blend, not that i have anything against hibiscus. :)
I’m curious as to how dexter would rate this one since i equate all things cherry with her haha. Thanks again for the share Cameron! this was a nice cup!
I figured that i should get around to trying this one since i randomly added it to my purchase a while back based largely on some of the glowing reviews here on steepster. I have to say, that while this will never be more amazing than nina’s japon for me, this IS quite lovely. I am digging the base and the fruity taste. Of course, this also makes me want to try this cold brewed because it seems like this would be really tasty cold, with a little sweetner :)
mmmmm love this tea first thing in the morning. I’m passing off the very last of this to Cavo, who seemingly hasn’t tried this yet since she was good enough to let me try her WP samples. Mostly, she’s in for a shock if she ever comes to pick up her bag….box….uh tea samples lol I’ll be stocking more of this at a later date…though i think it’s funny that sometimes i like this one more than golden strand, and then i like it less. both are awesome though :)
bumping up the rating on this one a little because today, it was positively perfect. Seriously…i am a fan of a number of WP’s straight blacks…possibly even more so than his flavoured blacks :) I’ll have to look at restocking this once i’m through more of my WP teas…still have a few months i can hold off for i think…..maybe….
Final Count: 83 (thanks to Cameron B mostly!)
EEP! i finished up 1 of my two bags of this today and that makes me a sad panda since it means i’ll be running out soon. This is hands down my favourite tea from nina’s – i think largely in part because i’m a)not a fan of their rooibs and b) don’t love “red fruit” as a flavour regardless of which tea company it’s from lol However, this tea is enough to keep me coming back again and again to Nina’s. love the vanilla, creamy, genmaicha flavour!
noms. tea for today to get me through the day. Verdant is hopefuly going to be posting blends this weekend, so i’m excited for that….though less impressed with the CAD $ being at a record low in 5 yrs… that makes tea buying EXPENSIVE damnit. :(
received teas from cameron and damn fine tea today so that’s exciting…even if it means an increase in cupboard size heh.
